Ozzfest 2004. Got to see the recently reunited original Black Sabbath, the reunited Judas Priest, and the rest of the lineup oh man... Slipknot, Hatebreed, Lamb of God.
It was my first big festival too. And as a teen boy it was one of my first major exposures to...uh...the wonders of ladies enjoying topfreedom.
And 2005 was amazing too.
Rob Zombie was probably the best one I’ve been too.
Just got done going to Ozzy and, even though tons of awesome in the air, the sheer amount of people and not actually being able to see him made the concert suck.
Godsmack, old three days grace, avatar, and Powerman 5000 all put on awesome shows.
And my most memorable one has to be the late Johnny Cash.
I had a similar experience with Ozzy. Also the venue was right by the New York State Fair and it was a madhouse with traffic so I missed Stone Sour which pissed me off.
Super jealous of you being able to see Johnny Cash.
I haven't seen many but I really enjoyed Metallica live, seeing them on concert made me a fan of their music
Hell yeah! I agree with you 110%! Seeing Metallica live is a very strong and spiritual experience for sure. So I can also say that my best concert experience was also Metallica and I have to also include Pantera, from back in the day. Rob Zombie was a cool experience because I loved their whole stage production and performance, but musically it wasn't even close to Metallica and Pantera.
By the time I got into heavy music, Pantera was already split. Shame. They're the one band that above all I wish I had seen when they were around. I did get to see Damageplan on that fateful last tour though just three days before we lost Dimebag. Great show.
I haven't seen them yet but last week I did get Iron Maiden tickets
Maiden was on Ozzfest 2005. I haven't seen them since and it's a bummer.
The speakers out by the lawn and I'm pretty sure in the pavilion as well crapped out during their set at one point. They were too metal for the sound system.
