Naturist B&B opens in Dublin months after Ireland gets first nude-friendly beach

Ireland's first ever nude-friendly B&B has opened in Dublin just months after a beach in Dalkey got the official nod for swimmers to drop their Speedos.

Members of the Irish Naturist Association can now bare all for low prices with rooms going for as little as €55 a night at Pine Tree House in Inchicore.

Owners Lena and Mark have opened up their home to guests in light of Hawk Cliffs in Dalkey becoming officially nude-friendly.

Posting on AirBnB, the pair advertise a "a more relaxed environment to that of any hotel or small apartment".

They wrote: "We have a lovely 4 bed period house in the heart of Dublin 8, where you can kick off your shoes and the rest of your clothing if you so wish.

"The house offers a lot of space with large living and dining rooms, traditional high ceilings plus an architected designed kitchen and living area.

"We are social naturists and comfortable with the naturist, positive lifestyle throughout the house.

"We both travel a lot and enjoy hosting and meeting new people plus we normally rent only one room at a time thus allowing us enjoy conversation and sharing travel stories."

Guests have been warned however, that they must adhere to the house rules which bans lingerie, and requires guests to always carry a towel.

Speaking to the Sun, the pair said: "If you want to show extra affection with someone you love, we suggest you get to your room or wait till you’re back home to do so.”

Regarding men getting a little too excited they said: “Yes, they can happen — especially if you are new to nudism. Just cover it up with the towel."

Last Summer, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council erected signs around Hawk Cliffs in Dalkey warning revellers they might see a little more than they bargained for.

The move came after a new change in the law ruled that nude bathers aren't doing anything illegal.

Under the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017, public nudity is only deemed an offence when someone is "intended to cause fear, distress or alarm, or engages in sexual activity."

It means that Hawk Cliff became Ireland's first nude-friendly beach.

The beach is not restricted to nudists, with the rule merely allowing for them to be allowed alongside clothed bathers.
