I have, or have access to, a range of musical instruments -- piano, guitar, Appalachian dulcimer, metal Irish flute, bodhran -- and I play them all equally well, which is not saying much I'm sorry to report. It is said that "an moron can play a bodhran" (1) but it seems I am the exception to the rule. I like the dulcimer best because it is very portable and works well with bagpipes. I love the sound of pipes by the way -- genetic inheritance I suppose -- and tried to learn to play them for a couple of years. But I gave it up after being asked (begged!) to stop. (2) I can sing though, or I think I can. At least no one ever begs me to stop.
