Clearly you and I have not attended any of the same rock shows or raves.

There are, actually.  Just off the top of my head:

1) Big Green Gathering - clothing optional
2) Nudestock
3) ConFest - clothing optional
4) Glastonbury Festival - clothing optional
5) The Love Parade - I think some nudity is allowed there
6) RAW @ Caboolture - one-off rock festival in 2005.  Nude only, no single men, no under 18s, no cameras.  No prizes for guessing why it failed

Not quiet. There are some areas where people go sans clothes, but it's still not strictly legal.
On an extended IYNO break... for now.

I've worked there the last few years, I havn't seen any naked people there at all. Nudity would be more accepted in the healing fields and green fields up by the stone circle. Due to work commitments I havn't been able to spend much time up there during the days. The security there are a bit of a law unto themselves. Upset them at your peril!

i can remember being at Leeds festival and seeing a guy sitting outside his tent barbecuing naked.  people were just walking past shaking their heads and smiling.

i think the atmosphere at festivals is relaxed enough to be accepting of nudity.  whether many people actually choose to do it or not is another thing...

There were some naturists at Splendour In The Grass festivals in Woodford this year.  :)

I think it's slowly going to worm it's way into Splendour In The Grass.  :)

I like The Pixies, and Richard Ashcroft from The Verve caused a mighty stir when hardly anyone turned up to see his set.  He stormed off the stage half-way through and said "Ahhhh fuck this, I'm going to go and see the Pixies!" and got a bit of a spanking in the press (and probably his manager) afterwards.
