I'm reading "The Gender Games" by Bella Forrest about a society torn between stark representations of the gender binary.  It's actually really good.  At least, I'm loving it so far.

I'm reading Mario Simmels book: It doesn't have to be caviar all the time (original title: Es muß nicht immer Kaviar sein) about an former agent of german, french and english secret service during the german economic miracle.
Hope to find like-minded people (nudists/naturists) in this forum to exchange experiences and stories

I just finished "The Gender Game" by Bella Forrest and it was such a surprise.  I didn't have high expectations because the premise is a young woman torn between two opposing societies, one strongly patriarchal and the other strongly matriarchal.  Both are portrayed as dystopias.

I thought it might devolve into the worst sort of feminist propaganda but instead it's just an interesting backdrop against which to place interesting, well characteried protagonists.  Because it's a bit of a spy thriller, there's no clear antagonist until the end and you're left appalled by a dramatic twist that I might have seen cominrg had I not invested to much into what the characters claimed about themselves.

There's a little romance too which I always find delightful but it's not heavy handed like it can be in some young adult novels.

I am very eager for the sequel and I highly recommend this book!

A quick book here

Flush - Virgina Woolf

This playful, wity biography of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's pet spaniel - involving Italian travels and kidnappings - asks what it is to be a dog, and a human. (Penguin Little Black Classics)

I just finished Ready Player One yesterday. It was a great read, a real page turner. Had a great William Gibson kind of vibe to it. Lots of 80's references, which was right up my alley. Can't wait for the movie to come out!

Gamer with Gerard Buttler.  I remember in the intro it says something like "from the book, Ready Player One"

No, there's a Spielberg movie coming out next year. Gamer came out in '09, and Ready Player One was published in '11.

My mistake.  Wonder how that false memory got in there :embarrassed:   If Spielberg is making it, it'll probably be a decent representation.
