My wife and I used to do reenacting for 1670s Charles Towne. I got to fire cannons, dress in period clothing and all that. I'd love to be part of a Norse village or something like you said.

That sounds interesting, but I'm a sucker for earlier periods :')

A Norse village would be interesting. People gathering to live an early period lifestyle for a time, cut away from the modern.

I got into historical re-enactment a couple of years ago, and while there's no way I'd want to fight anyone naked, I figured I'd ask.
Are there any other historical re-enactors here, or even just history enthusiasts? I do Viking age re-enactment, and for the most part everyone else in my group kicks my arse since they've nearly all been at it way longer than I have.

Why not recreate ancient Greece, especially Sparta? The Spartans pre war routine was to work out nude

It would be awesome if you, your wife, and the other reenacters would post pics of your costumes.

BAM! Here ya go.

That's pretty cool

Fishandchips

I used to go to steam railways and museums which would put on annual 1940s events where a lot of people would rest up and re-enactors doing various scenes around the sites. Visited a Tram museum too which is set in an abandoned quarry and mining site with a woodland trail. They had two 40s events on per year and an Edwardian event too. Various things going on from suffragette movement to war time evacuations.

Love history. I actual have a major in history so I am a sucker for historic sites, facts, and books.

I don't reenact like professionals do (think of those civil war battle people) or even cosplay even but I do have a few items I like to wear. My most wore one is an american revolution soldier costume that I plan to wear in front of historic sites in Boston, Philadelphia, etc.
