I noticed the other day I was posting things and remember I had something like 539 total posts before I started. I made more than 10 posts that day but my total number as still below 550. That’s the second time I’m aware this has happened but I put the first time down to some topics being deleted because of an issue with someone else. Something was being deleted somewhere but don’t know what.

Only mods and the OP of the topic can change or modify it

Do note that those of you that don't properly reply on quotes I do end up editing so you'll see that.

That's called post padding and it will often times make it look like a wall of post.

Basically it'll look like this:

Jen says something
Bob says something
Tom says something
Sara says something

Instead of reply putting in 1 reply with quotes from all 4...they'll do this:

Jim replies and quotes Jen
Jim replies and quotes Bob
Jim replies and quotes Tom
Jim replies and quotes Sara

If I see that, I will edit (but also generally message you as well) so it will appear like this

""
""
""
Sara says something

Jim replies and quotes all 4 in one reply.

Beyond that, yes, Nudielad is correct and only mods and original op can edit their post. The only exception to that rule is if original OP of the topic deletes it, it will delete everything after it as well.

Possible that the emoji broke on that one. Doubt anyone edited that.

Might have been an automatic database maintenance thing that did not recognize the character and processed it into something else.
Please send me a message on the forum before contacting me over IM. For best results, also mention what you want to talk about, I am not much of a smalltalker.

Yeah. Because those are not emoji. Emoji specifically are pictures that are part of the text, whereas those symbols in the smilie bar are real pictures that are represented by a little replacement text.

Yeah, if mods decide to just up and edit your shit, to the point of literally changing the tone and intent of what you said, if not just deleting the post completely.

Been a good long time since it's happened to me, but it was a serious problem in the past.

All of that are emojis...
The problem is not for example in this emoji :mask:, and according to you it should also be replaced with questionmarks... The problem is with emojis that are not from this forum, like from my own swiftkey keyboard, they firsr appear but after some time are replaced with questionmarks...

They are emoticons or smilies, not emoji. They are pictures that get embedded into posts if you write their name, they are part of the forum software we use, whereas emoji are letters that simply look like pictures. :mask: is written as :mask:, embedded as the image https://internationalyn.org/forum/Smileys/default/face-with-medical-mask_1f637.png whereas 😷is the unicode character 1F637, which your device may or may not render as a similar symbol, but rendering which is up to your device, browser or font. They may look similar, but technically they are very different. And the latter may well be gone after the next database optimization runs, since the forum software may have trouble with  emoji.
