I really like the format of this program, and that it invites kids to ask questions and have a 'natural' conversation about bodies and nudity. But the one thing that I dislike, is that it literally places the models on a pedestal, make a 'grand moment' out of disrobing, and generally make it more spectacular than it has to be. Having read a lot of controversy about it since it was first announced, I think that's a key issue for some people.

I absolutely understand the need for a boundary between the kids and the nude people, and a podium-audience setup might work for this, but the setting and atmosphere could have been made a lot more "open conversation" and "just nude people" instead of the "fashion show" and "photoshoot studio lights" aesthetic they ended up with...

Actually forget that, sorry. You posted the video of the show the other topic was an article about the controversy (angry prudish backlash) it received.

2.3 likes and 4.6 dislikes.  Very sad.  We've got a long long way to go where normalizing nudity is concerned.  :-(

I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion from that data alone. Keep in mind that some people might dislike the show for reasons other than nudity. Though, I think your analysis is likely true regardless.

I don't hate the idea (as i clearly remember going to an exposition about sexuality when i was about their age and remember trying to look at the pics of naked people without my friends noticing it), I just think it could get a little more refined.

Bringing actual naked humans of different colors and size in a safe environment for teens/kids is something beneficial to my opinion.

Turns out a group has collected signatures to ask parliament to stop broadcasting of the program.
https://nos.nl/artikel/2372351-petitie-tegen-gewoon-bloot-aangeboden-aan-tweede-kamer.html

Luckily there was only one person in the entirety of parliament who wanted to accept the signatures, from a religious party with 3 out of the 150 members of parliament.

maybe they should have a field trip to a naturist resort instead of putting adults on pedestals and making it a spectral

Cos you know if something offends you the best way to deal with it is to go grovelling to the government to have it banned instead of just changing the channel, ignoring it or putting forth better peaceful ideas to challenging it.

I thought this controversy sounded familiar and it's because there's a show in Denmark with the same premise, Ultra smider tøjet or "Ultra Strip Down."

https://www.dr.dk/drtv/saeson/ultra-smider-toejet_191697

I think the premise is great. If I had kids I'd be comfortable with them watching it. But then again, looking at where I posting on, I'm not exactly unbiased.  :happy

Also, the Google Chrome translate on the dr.dk page is hilariously awful. I won't spoil it but the S1E1 translation is...something.

Aha now I know why it was familiar.
