these are blog posts from the Sensual Nudist and Naturist Place blogs, respectively. despite the titles, the first is about doubling down on the actual 'content' of naturism while shedding the label. the second is a constructive response to the first.

giving up nudism? -
here's something naturists need to think about -

i'm not gonna offer any commentary (yet), but right now I'm too lazy to cut and paste both posts here, so if you're reading this 10 years in the future (what are you doing?!) and the websites are defunct, i guess that's just your loss. in the meantime, feel free to discuss

I actually really agree with basically everything said in both articles. We don't like to talk about it on this forum, but the claim that "nudism is tainted", at least in the US, is true. I do think they fall short on offering solutions, but I think the main points are sound.

I have a lot more thoughts about ideology and nudism, but I'm not sure how to put all my thoughts into words so I'll save that for another time. Here's just a few half-baked thoughts. I think these articles really hit on something important. If clothing-optional activism is ever going to get anywhere, we need a broad coalition of people and a consistent ideology that people external to the movement actually understand, and right now, the only things people think about what nudists are "weird old men leering at girls on beaches with their dicks out", "those porn videos of naked girls in the woods", and if you're lucky, "rich white boomers going to expensive resorts to play tennis naked". These narratives are pervasive, and they are the single biggest obstacle to any real change. The question these articles raise but fail to answer is, how do we change the way people see us?

While I Subscribe to alot of naturist beliefs, I wouldn't lable myself as a naturist. I don't like identifying myself by labels like that, I'm much more than a phenomenon
