I still need to see the Hurt locker as films on the Iraq War never quite got my interest. But I was glad Up got two awards and Star Trek go an award for the quite lavish alien make up they did.

Hurt Locker was great.

Very happy that Avatar didn't win anything.

The 1st Time that a woman gets the Oscar for directing.
And precisely for such a heavy topic like the movie "Tödliches Kommando (Deadly Command) - Hurt Locker"

Here's an unsparing look from the perspective of the soldiers.
Here not only the courageous efforts will be shown.
It also shows the silly thoughts of the officers. Colonel and doctor who are never in direct use. There are the ordinary soldiers.
For this is every man interchangeable and therefore replaceable.

The film is relentless and open to change with the fears of soldiers around, even with their anger and their inability to something.
This film has everything that makes a film worth seeing.
Also a lot of stuff to talk about the futility of war
Nothing will glorify

I'm glad Up got a couple of Oscars. Avatar was good but I don't know if it deserved any Oscars.

You mean, beside visual effects? :)

I'm dying to see Precious.  Looks so good.  Mo'Nique was awesome in the 10 second clips I saw of her.

Happy for most of them, gald Avatar got passed up and we didn't have another year of Slumdog Millonaire-esque awards for hype. Christoph Waltz thouroughly deserved his, as did UP with their wins. Don't agree with the cinematography for Avatar though, Robert Richardson for Inglorious Bastards did a brilliant job. Screenplay could have easily have gone to the Coen's or Tarantino though.
On an extended IYNO break... for now.

I saw the Hurt Locker.  It was great, but I don't know about all the awards it got.
