I asked an AI to write an articleabout naturism.
« on: February 07, 2023, 09:46:03 am »
I've become more interested in website AI services lately (like everyone else and their cat).

I asked the website texta.ai to write an article with the prompt: how do we make naturism more popular and turn it into a youth movement?

This is what it churned out. I think it's quite apparent that it's an AI who wrote it. It doesn't really say anything. Still super impressive.

The New Revolution: How to Make Naturism the Next Big Youth Movement!
Naturism, also known as nudism, is the practice of being naked in public. It has many benefits for both physical and mental health, as well as for society as a whole. Despite these benefits, naturism is often seen as taboo or perverse. In order to make naturism more accepted and mainstream, we need to start a youth naturist movement.

There are several ways we can do this. First, we can promote the benefits of naturism on social media. Second, we can establish naturism as a legitimate movement by holding events and campaigns. And third, we can work to redefine the perception of naturism by exploring cultural and intersectional dynamics.

If we can overcome these social stigmas, then we can make naturism the next big youth movement!

The Benefits of Naturism as a Youth Movement.
Naturism is a social movement that advocates for the acceptance of nudity in public spaces. Naturists believe that nudity can be beneficial to both individuals and society as a whole. There are a number of reasons why naturism could be seen as a positive youth movement.

The Physical and Mental Health Benefits of Naturism.
One of the biggest benefits of naturism is the impact it can have on physical and mental health. Naturists argue that clothing is unnecessary and restrictive, and that being naked can help people feel more comfortable in their own skin. Additionally, naturists believe that nudity can help reduce body shame and promote body acceptance. Numerous studies have shown that there are indeed physical and mental health benefits to being nude, such as increased self-esteem, improved body image, and reduced stress levels.

The Positive Impact of Naturism on Societal Norms.
In addition to the individual benefits of naturism, there are also societal benefits to be gained from promoting this lifestyle. Naturists argue that clothing is a cultural construct that perpetuates harmful gender norms and body standards. By normalizing nudity, naturists hope to challenge these harmful norms and create a more inclusive society for all people, regardless of their bodies or appearance. Additionally, naturists believe that nudity can help foster a greater sense of community and togetherness, as well as promote environmental awareness by encouraging people to appreciate nature in its purest form.

Strategies for Making Naturism a Youth Movement.
Social media can be a powerful tool for promoting any cause or movement – and naturism is no exception. By creating social media accounts and using hashtags, young people can help to raise awareness of the benefits of naturism and encourage others to give it a try. In addition, online forums and groups can provide a supportive community for those who are interested in exploring naturism.

Establishing Naturism as a Legitimate Movement.
In order to be taken seriously as a youth movement, naturism must be seen as more than just a passing fad or trend. This can be achieved by working with established naturist organizations to help promote the movement, engaging in research and writing about the benefits of naturism, and organizing events and campaigns that showcase its positive impact.

Reaching Out to Young People Through Events and Campaigns.
One of the best ways to reach out to young people and get them involved in the naturist movement is through events and campaigns specifically designed for them. These can include everything from nude beach days and body painting parties to protests against body shaming and body-negative advertising. By taking part in these activities, young people can show that naturism is about more than just being naked – it’s about empowering individuals to love their bodies regardless of size, shape, or appearance.

How to Overcome Social Stigmas and Support a Youth Naturist Movement.
The first step in overcoming social stigmas and promoting a youth naturist movement is to redefine the perception of naturism. In recent years, there has been a growing trend of people associating naturism with sex and sexualized behavior. This is not only inaccurate, but it also creates an unnecessary barrier for young people who might be interested in exploring naturism.

To change this perception, we need to reframe how we talk about naturism and emphasize that it is about body positivity, self-acceptance, and respect for others. We can do this by highlighting the many physical and mental health benefits of naturism, as well as its potential to create more positive societal norms around body image and sexuality.

Exploring Cultural and Intersectional Dynamics.
In order to effectively overcome social stigmas and promote a youth naturist movement, we must also explore the cultural and intersectional dynamics at play. For example, there is a long history of racism and classism within the naturist community that has contributed to its current reputation as being exclusive or elitist. Additionally, many young people feel uncomfortable with their bodies due to pressure from media images that portray an unrealistic standard of beauty.

We must work to address these issues head-on if we want to create a youth naturist movement that is truly inclusive and representative of all young people. This includes reaching out to local communities and organizations that work with marginalized groups, such as people of color or low-income individuals. By working together, we can begin to break down the barriers that have prevented many young people from experiencing the benefits of naturism.

Working With Local Communities and Organizations.
An important part of overcoming social stigmas and supporting a youth naturist movement is working with local communities and organizations. There are already numerous organizations dedicated to promoting body positivity, self-acceptance, and respect for others—such as The NAKED Truth Initiative or Young Naturists America—that young people can get involved with. However, we need to do more to raise awareness about these organizations and their work within our local communities.

One way to do this is by hosting events or campaigns that highlight the importance of body positivity and self-acceptance. For example,Young Naturists America hosts an annual “Nude Week” on college campuses across the country which helps educate students about the many benefits of naturism while also providing them with a safe space to explore their own bodies without judgement or shame. These types of events are crucial in helping young people see that they are not alone in their interest in naturism—and that there is an entire community of like-minded individuals who are ready to support them on their journey!

Conclusion
The New Revolution: How to Make Naturism the Next Big Youth Movement!

Naturism is a lifestyle that can provide numerous benefits for young people, including improved physical and mental health, a stronger sense of body confidence, and a more positive outlook on societal norms. With the right strategies in place, naturism can become a powerful youth movement that promotes positive change in the world. To make this happen, we must work to overcome social stigmas and support naturist youth initiatives through education, events, and community outreach. By doing so, we can create a brighter future for all.

This is incredibly fascinating and worrying at the same time.
The year is 2023 and AI can now write nearly indistinguishable essays and articles, apart from many other things :confused

Yeah that article reads like those internet website that just spill out daily content with information mostly sourced from Wikipedia.
Also despite seemlying repeating itself, the article really reads like a AANR statement lol

I also think this is worrying. Writing is a fundamental skill, and it's an excellent way of developing our brain. AI can be benefitial on many fields, but not to the point of making us more stupid.

...

This sentence is confusing for me.

It would be news to me that this movement has such a reputation.

I perceive the movement as very tolerant and one of the arguments of naturists is always that we are all the same naked and that naked people (as opposed to clothed people) do not realize each other's position in society. This actually leads to people approaching each other without prejudice.

I absolutely think that naturism has that reputation. Nudist resorts are quite pricey, and you can look over the gallery yourself to see how little diversity there is.

Rare case of AI getting something right, but I would still much rather read an article written by a human being who can talk about their own experiences.

I would say resort culture is definitely a lot more elitist than grass roots nudism. And probably a lot more conservative politically along with it, with all the baggage on race and class relations, gender roles and GSRM acceptance that often comes with traditional values.

Believe it or not, plenty of conservatives at the cub I go too. Some really staunch ones and stereotype gender roles too. It’s rucking fidiculous sometimes that I seem to be the only guy to mop out the sauna shower others expect a woman to do it and it’s always the same woman they expect. “Oh just leave it for Wendy she’ll do it” pisses me off as much as her.

Sorry for going off topic with that rant lol

Ok, but this is actually something general that doesn't just apply to the nudist society. Perhaps others simply expect naturists to be more tolerant or something. But in principle we are all human beings, whether nudists or not, and it's probably the same in other clubs that have nothing to do with nudity.

In my opinion, the only thing you should really be able to expect from a nudist is that they don't despise or laugh at anyone because of their appearance or their body and that they don't see nudity in a sexual way.

But it is not to be expected that there are fewer conservatives among nudists than elsewhere (and in my opinion a conservative attitude does not necessarily have to be negative, but the assumption that a woman is responsible for cleaning and men can lean back lazily is really not in keeping with the times)

Clubs are typically run by old wealthy couples that are long retired and have been in the same social environment for decades. Good luck with getting them to improve.

I think this is a dumb argument point. Are you suggesting that we take/post more pictures of black people and that will fix the nudism movement's diversity image? I would for you to point out a history of nudism being anti-diverse of whatever you prefer to call it.

I also don't agree with your classism of it. I actually view it more as ageism (Get off my lawn, turn off that damn music) as the image nudism has. What are examples that make you view nudism as having a classist image to the general public?

Maybe in Europe it is different but here in America I've seen nudist camps with a less than accepting people flying a flag of hate. I've thought of the politic position of nudists in older organized nudist groups and I have come to the conclusion that many of those in that group are more 'don't tell me what to do' rather than anything we here in inyo subscribe to (body image, acceptance, feels good, etc).

During the covid pandemic I almost suggested that non-wearing mask people should protest by going nude but thought against it since they might actually do and damage our image. In fact, the most famous 'nudists' from the last 5 years are not positive people that you want to align yourself with.

Personally I feel nudism is better as a protest against anti-masking. You get mad at wearing a tiny piece of cloth on your face to keep the people around you safe, but expect us to wrap up entire bodies for your comfort? If a mask is too much, so are pants.

What kind of discussion have I triggered with my comment?
I can only say that I am relatively new to the "nudist" world and am also active in a German forum, where people are very open-minded and there is no problem with hate and everyone is very tolerant of people who look different. There have been statements from members that all people are welcome in their clubs (whether homosexual or otherwise). I thought that this community reflected naturists all over the world and that it was a characteristic of the movement to be open. Obviously this is a false assumption.

Although I have never visited a German naturist club myself, I always read that the average age is very high. So one image could be that naturism is for old people. And it cannot be denied that there is a lack of young people, which was also the motivation of the thread creator, which brings us back to the actual topic.

But I really wonder what could motivate young people to give nudism a try.

I only got a taste for nudism through saunas and I still have little motivation to visit a nudist club. In my area (but probably not only here) it's always associated with camping and I have to admit that I just don't like campsites. I imagine a naturist club to be like a normal campsite, with the difference that everyone is naked. It's a boring idea for me and I wouldn't want to buy a camper van (I'd rather stay in a tent or a bungalow).
Another difference between a normal campsite and a (German) naturist club is that there is often a lake or a swimming pool. That would be the only motivation for me to go to such a place. But I only swim for 20-30 minutes and that's all I need. For me, it is bearable to put on my swimming trunks for this short time in a swimming pool with a sports pool and then relax in the sauna area for the rest of the day. For me, however, it is important that the sauna has an outdoor area where I can sunbathe naked.

Of course, I'll have to give it a try and visit a nudist club to be able to make a final judgment, but I assume that I'll continue to prefer saunas.

Unfortunately, I don't live near a coast, but I bet I'd have much more fun on a nudist beach than in a nudist club. I would also like to try out a nudist hiking trail.
I can't think of anything more liberating than being naked in nature.

Yes nudity can be a powerful form of protests. I never ever suggested anti-masking go nude since I didn't want the stigma of those hateful freaks containing nudism so I shut my mouth at the time
