Do you like or dislike the beatles and why?

Personally I'm not a big Beatles fan, but I do like what people say are "Beatles Inspired Albums" (Genesis self-titled and Billy Joel's Nylon Curtain just to name two). I completely understand that they are one of the most influential things to happen to music and respect them for that, though.

I like some of their music, and dislike others. I prefer bands that have come later who were influenced by them.

I'm not really into rock or pop music, I only listen to it when driving a car. I mean it's a good "background noise" to keep me from being bored but I wouldn't buy tickets to a concert or anything. That being sais, I do consider Beatles one of the "better" bands on my radio, if my uneducated opinion counts at all

I guess one needs to understand that period in time. Just like Elvis, you liked him or didn't (me not). The music spoke to a generation seeking change. It was a break from the music mom & dad listened too. Now if asked me I'd say Dark Side of Moon is one of the best of all times. Even now 50 yrs later, it still can still stir something inside you.

As a classical music lover, I would say 50 years doesn't even count

The beatles are very original. I find most people associate the band with there early simple 2 minute tunes. If you look at there later stuff your opinion would change on them.

My dad has always been a big Beatles fan so it just reminds me of him, which is happy for me.

Same here. My dad was one of the biggest Beatles fans in the world and he raised me up to their music. He passed away a few months ago so I miss him dearly but whenever I hear a Beatles song I still always think of him and smile

Their ok.  I wouldn't rank em in my top 10, but here comes the sun is a great tune on guitar.

they definitely don't deserve to be called the greatest band of all time, but they're still really good. they just don't call for very extreme opinions

i know they're original. i mean people who call them their favourite band aren't original.

Never liked the Beatles. I found their vocals weak and musicianship very loose. What they did was more on the pop culture front, in my opinion, and for that they are commendable. But maybe I look at it a bit more critically since I worked in that industry and studied music at uni.
