This is an episode of the MTV Show I Have Embarrassing Parents. In this episode shows a dad who loves star wars, a mom and dad who are nudist owners, and a dad who is a cringe white rapper.

Personal thoughts are that I thought that the kid wasn't really embarrassed by his parents and just wanted to be on TV. It is clear that he is in the age of being embarrassed by his own nudity but doesn't seem to mind others in the resort. In the "section" labeled "Alex Confronts His Dad", the dad tells Alex that he raised him in a typical middle class life and tells Alex's friend that he and the mom aren't going to force her to join them. Alex saids that when he hangs out with his friends that they go to the mall, so it really feels like there is no conflict of any kind between Alex and his parents or even embarrassment.

I love Alex's friend Sarah's reaction to all this. She states that she doesn't the nudity as bad and notes that she would be comfortable joining in with Alex's parent in being nude but not with Alex, which points at probably Sarah being uncomfortable naked with someone she personally knows or feeling the same as Alex due to their age. Sarah even trys it out a bit of sunbathing topless, a bold move for a teenager to do on national tv. The programs trys to be dramatic by saying that she hasn't returned. Why would they do that? Were they waiting a whole month in the resort for her? That just points at a desperate attempt by MTV to make a 'plot' around this scenario since Alex just called MTV to be on TV.

Looks like an old video rather. Yes these so called documentaries have to throw in unnecessary and unconvincing dramas don't they?

AWWWW man!  I REMEMBER watching this!   There's late 90's / early 2000's vibes all over this.   Right down to the music!     Thank you for the upload!

Meanwhile, look at how many young people were at that resort back then!

Alex seemed.. okay? with it all when he was giving the tour to the film crew. Yeah. I wonder how much of it is teenager "wanting to fit in" vs genuine discomfort vs what was dressed up for the show lol

I know, what is supposed to be a documentary seems more like (un)reality TV all dressed up to create a story and some drama.

Was kinda hard to take this seriously.  I'm sure it was a way to attract more traffic to the resort (now Desert Sun Resort and no longer family friendly) and maybe they got the desired effect for a while.  As for the kid, I had to scoff at his comments that he would rather live somewhere that's cold all the time and everyone wore clothes year-round.  Bit over-dramatic if you ask me.

Why is it no longer family friendly? Did they just stop kids going or has it been turned into hedonistic resort

According to the website, it says it's adult only.  And do mention having members in the "lifestyle" (9/10 code for swinging), but still have to behave themselves.  In essence, not a place to bring children anymore.

Ugh that just sucks. Wonder if the documentary had any part in attracting those sorts and they got taken over that way.

Such programs are certainly scripted from beginning to end and I wouldn't believe anything that is shown there. It's all about ratings...
