Manual ! It's fun to drive and my two parents have a manual car (my mother has a 1989 Bronco II and my father has a 2008 Ranger) and I have my temporary permit so I can still drive the 2 cars with my parents

I have only ever driven a car with an automatic transmission. I know very little about cars in general, so manual transmission is a bit much for me.

An automatic transmission is great for convenience and raw acceleration performance.

A manual transmission is great for feeling connected to the vehicle and the driving experience.

It's all a matter of what works best for you.  I tend to err towards auto given where I live, but if I was a bit more out in the country with those windy country roads, manual would be the play.

I think the manual transmissions are really annoying in traffic !

I've always driven a manual transmission. I once rented a car and drove with an automatic transmission, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to drive. So I prefer the manual transmission because I find it easier

I've only ever driven auto.  If I suddenly had to use manual, I'd absolutely cause an accident

@tristonrivers -  Naw, you'd just stall out and hold everyone up!  :D.

As a italian car guy, definitely  manual
Nature is the best outfit

I'm all in for manual because I'd be bored to death if I had auto (it doesn't make a difference on the motorway since you'll leave it on highest gear anyway) but in every other option I've got at least things to do. And have more control of the car.

But there are interesting opinions on the manual, and I wonder, why exactly it's annoying or dangerous, or slow, or difficult or...

I think an automatic transmission is convenient. But with a manual transmission it feels like I'm really driving

I like a manual cause its more reliable.  Most likely point of failure is the clutch and you can still get home without it and it's way cheaper to have a clutch replaced than to have a automatic transmission rebuilt.  You can also roll start them if your battery is dead.
