Inception

Sorry it's so late, had so much stuff in my life:

Do you watch a film whilst often doing something else? Ironing maybe? How about writing a message on a forum? If so, this film may be a new experience for you. Inception is a film you actually have to sit down and watch to understand what’s happening. You actually have to think to enjoy this film, which may turn people away, or in my case intrigue the viewer.

Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. Thank you Warner brother’s for that explanation. But yes, the story is a bit confusing, but it’s absolutely absorbing. So much happening means you never get bored. Unless you get lost.

It is very well acted, although I’m not Leo’s biggest fan and he wasn’t the best in this film. However, I did enjoy Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy. I thought they were brilliant and easiest the best in here. But the entire cast was strong and well suited to each role. Noone really let them down at all.

So yes, basically, this film is incredibly great. Not the greatest film this year, but Toy Story beat it there for me. However, it is the best film that isn’t a sequel this year and is worth seeing in a cinema. Twice. Maybe 3 times if you love it. But go, have some food for thought and get entertained! 5 star film for sure.

I have to say that I wasn't a fan of this at all.

For me it just felt like an instruction manual in movie form and wasn't half as clever as it wanted to be.

It did seem a bit over elaborate and silly at times. The zero-g fighting was fun though.

I absolutely loved this movie! Best movie of the year in my opinion, beating out Toy Story 3 and The Social Network. I love how it is such a clever film, the musical score is riveting and the casting director did a fantastic job with each choice. I can see no wrong in this film, except for the fact that Christopher Nolan didn't get nominated for Best Director at the Oscars this year for creating this movie with such a massive scale to it

Yes it's a clever film - but for me it didn't take the idea far enough... perhaps so it would appeal to a mass audience?
