I dont listen to that much songs by german artists.

Onkelz r sometimes rele good. Guano Apes is ok. and all the others you see i will listen to only sometimes. mostly i turn on iTunes and shuffle all songs....

Lyrics can "make" or "break" a song so i also prefer songs with good lyrics
Although listening to a song with simple lyrics can be nice too

Well there's the Scorpions.  Helloween and Gamma Ray are both awesome.  I liked Rammstein in high school but even they got extremely weird even for my tastes.

Well there is a lot going on regarding bands in Germany. I'm not a big fan of the pop ans Volksmusic (Wofgang Petri, Modern Talking...). But the alternative bands are real good. I personnaly like :
* Die ärtzte
* Beatsteaks
and lots of metal :
* Grave Digger
* Rage
* Helloween
* Heaven Shall Burn
* Blind Guardian
* Rammstein
* Oomph
....

A few weeks ago a german friend said to me that Tokio Hotel is a german band...I really didn't know that.

Lacrimosa founder Tilo Wolff is German, singer Anne Nurmi is Finnish (www.lacrimosa.ch)
