Does anyone here have any idea of any greatest hit songs in the 80s, 85, 70s, 60s, 50s that I could download it into my iPod?

I recently noticed that iTunes has a section of 69 cent songs that are categorized by decades and were all great hits. You might want to look into that.

This could end out costing you a lot of money. Maybe you should try listening on a free music service like last.fm so you can decide what you like.

I'll try to get you started on the fifties. This is just a rough cut, not my definitive list, and the order isn't that important, although the ones I think are better are nearer the top.

Roll Over Beethoven - Chuck Berry
 Blueberry Hill - Fats Domino
Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley & His Comets
Whole Lot of Shakin' Going On - Jerry Lee Lewis
Blue Suede Shoes - Carl Perkins
I Walk The Line - Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two
Mack The Knife - Bobby Darin
 What'd I Say - Ray Charles
 Summertime Blues - Eddie Cochran
Johnny B Goode - Chuck Berry
 Jailhouse Rock - Elvis Presley
 Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
Long Tall Sally - Little Richard
That'll Be The Day - Buddy Holly & the Crickets
 Rumble - Link Wray
 Susie Q - Dale Hawkins
Shake, Rattle And Roll - Bill Haley & His Comets
 Maybellene - Chuck Berry
 Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley
Shake, Rattle And Roll - Joe Turner
Don't Be Cruel - Elvis Presley
Great Balls Of Fire - Jerry Lee Lewis
Rock And Roll Music - Chuck Berry
Flip, Flop And Fly - Joe Turner
 Peggy Sue - Buddy Holly
 Lucille - Little Richard
 The Great Pretender - Platters
 Ain't That A Shame - Fats Domino

Was that band group Muddy Waters spoofed on Family Guy where this singer peed kidney stones while singing?

Muddy Waters was the stage name of a real person:

Quote
McKinley Morganfield (April 4, 1913 – April 30, 1983), known as Muddy Waters, was an American blues musician, generally considered the Father of modern Chicago blues.

...Muddy Waters was ranked #17 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Don't know if they're old enough...but I'd advice Led Zeppelin!
