Does anyone here have any idea of any greatest hit songs in the 80s, 85, 70s, 60s, 50s that I could download it into my iPod?

Five9

I recently noticed that iTunes has a section of 69 cent songs that are categorized by decades and were all great hits. You might want to look into that.

Depends on what kind of oldies you like (Rock, Pop, Electronic, Blues, Jazz, ....)

This could end out costing you a lot of money. Maybe you should try listening on a free music service like last.fm so you can decide what you like.

I'll try to get you started on the fifties. This is just a rough cut, not my definitive list, and the order isn't that important, although the ones I think are better are nearer the top.

I would prefer Rock and Pop mostly.

Was that band group Muddy Waters spoofed on Family Guy where this singer peed kidney stones while singing?

Muddy Waters was the stage name of a real person:

QuoteMcKinley Morganfield (April 4, 1913 – April 30, 1983), known as Muddy Waters, was an American blues musician, generally considered the Father of modern Chicago blues.

...Muddy Waters was ranked #17 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
