I agree with Simon's point and also with Danee's.  I also agree with AElf's point that it shouldn't be seen as some sort of competition.  I think that you might consider something along the line of degrees of enlightenment.  How many degrees I don't know.  There, that should provide some fine lines to walk on.

I don't wish to unnecessarily complicate things but can you bifurcate the box score somehow so that both number of posts and number of topics started are considered?

How about a scale that goes from Champignon up to Champion, i.e. interested but sort of in the dark up to well-informed contributor?

Hey all, no intention to add any fuel to a fire. I think its great that people are putting forward new ideas. Though I must admit I agree that without a real purpose the changes to the terms appear to be a little unnecessary

I don't intend to offend anyone as clearly there was a good deal of thought that went into the new suggestions. It could be I like the quirkiness of the existing nomenclature.

In my feebile opinion the ranking terms should be changed slightly. Topfree and topfree in briefs or boxers are the same. I dont wear briefs (unless by briefs panties is implyed) but sometimes wear boxers. I think it should go from shorts,teeshirt and sandals to topless. Topless means they could still be wearing shorts or in briefs, boxers or panties as they choose.  I'm topless right now, can't wait till I'm ranked nude  .

Nothing wrong with just 4 groups but more steps would distinguish chatters more based on how much they chat and contribute. More steps also give a person a goal to go for when posting also.


Here's just an idea for thought.

fully dressed shirt, pants, socks, shoes- nude curious  up 10 posts
casually dressed, shirt, shorts, flip flops - nude interested, starting out  11-50 posts
topless, maybe in briefs,boxers or panties- still new to nudity but getting there  51-150 posts
nude but has towel ready to wrap - self explanatory 150-301 posts
nude no towel- self explanatory 301-600 posts
FKK nudism follower- self explanatory 601-2000 posts
super nudist- what are clothes? 2001+posts

Just stumbled across this and found it a fascinating read. I'd been wondering the meaning behind the descriptions and having the background is really helpful.

I agree with a number of the earlier points that point out the current descriptions basically use a person's posting frequency as a proxy for their progression on the naturist journey. I'd rather see descriptors that acknowledge must more directly that their root lies in a forum member's post tally. How about something like:

0 posts: Pre-poster
1-15 posts: Newbie
16 - 50 posts: Finding my voice
51 - 100 posts: Prolific poster
101 - 250 posts: Naturist advocate
250 - 1000 posts: Forum veteran
1000+ posts: Naturist Thought Leader

I see there hasn't been any activity on this thread for months now and this may be a dead issue. Hopefully not though as I agree that the current descriptors aren't really very intuitive and actually imply that unless you're on here posting all the time then you're not really a naturist (regardless of the quality or otherwise of those posts as Aelf pointed out). I doubt that was the intent, particularly given Danee's comment that she had to come up with the terms quite quickly.

I should also add that I reckon this is a great, well-run forum with very worthwhile content and with a lot of great ideas exchanged. I hope this suggestion can contribute in some positive way.
