London, England (CNN) -- Singer Gerry Rafferty, famous for the 1970s hits "Baker Street" and "Stuck in the Middle With You," which was used in Quentin Tarantino's film "Reservoir Dogs," has died, his agent said Wednesday.

He was 63. A cause of death was not given. . . .

I am deeply saddened.  The tracks from City to City were favourites in my aunt's house and were very much a part of the background music of my childhood. Baker Street was my favourite, part of the soundtrack of my life.  I have it playing in the background as I write this.  That wailing sax and crying guitar cut into my heart.  He was a great poet and a fine musician.  If only he had been able to give up the booze he might still be with us.

Farewell Gerry, thank you for sharing what was written in your heart.
Millions of years of evolution have combined to produce me.
I'm rather hoping that I don't bugger it up in one lifetime.

I'm just familiar with his hit Baker Street, which is an outstanding song, and one of my favorites of that era.

I find it always strange how a musician can influence your life so, while you have never met or talked with him/her, when a musician dies it always makes you sad...
Rest In Peace Gerry, you gave us great Music to remember always!
