Educating Julie: Feature length Naturist film
« on: March 13, 2011, 11:17:47 pm »
I heard about this film a long time ago, but only just saw it for the first time today. Not the best quality, but interesting and open look at naturism in the early 1980's. Could be seen as an extra long advert for the movement, but it could be good to show people who aren't sure what it's all about.

Not sure if the film is still available on popular formats like DVD, but it should be. Here it is in 4 parts on the net.

I watched this a few weeks ago. It's a bit cheesy at times, but it's definitely a great film for introducing people to the philosophy of naturism.

Great find matey  :2345 , been looking for this film for years. I thought it was a good mix of fiction and factual based documentary. The best thing I liked was that you could tell the people who were interviewed were real-life people/naturist families and not just actors being used.

once again , Great find.  :2345 :2345

I found it unrealistic how Julie's BF was immature and stupid with his views towards nudism then a few later he loves it. He treated Julie poorly and was  totally immature. I know its a story and they characters but would most girls/ladies stick around with a guy like that ?

It very sad and disgusting how the club they visited in Florida, USA. is no longer catering to Families but to pervs.

Cap D'adge looks awesome. Its also a damn shame that pervs have made it un-family friendly at times.

It would be interesting if anyone could find out if Gail Ward the actress who plays Julie is a nudist now or not. And the nudists in the video, it would be cool if we could interview them now.

Pretty certain Gail Ward had been asked that question in interviews since the movie came out and stated she did not consider herself a nudist either before or after the movie.

It just reminded me of many tv shows from that time.  Definitely a relic of it's era, that's for sure.

A lot of girls and women do, because they fear loss of love.  Yes, Steve was being a bit of jerk at the beginning but it did take him some convincing from Mike to get into it if he wanted to keep Julie as his g/f.  But let's get real: many people are very insecure when it comes to matters of sex and nudity, and he is an indication of what a lot of guys in our Western world are like.  Would the film have had as much impact if he was just an 'anything goes' type?

I have never been there, but they did it to keep their head above water financially because they were obviously not generating enough money from the family contingent.

As long as the perves keep to themselves and do their stuff out of the way of the families, I don't think there's a problem with that.

I just finished watching the entire film and I thought it was very well done.  Being meant as an educational piece, it was very interesting and well acted.  Often the naturist documentaries are stuffy, corny, boring films, but this one actually had me watching the whole way through.
Great find, thanks for posting.

I have finally watched it. It is a great film and I myself found it as educaional as Julie. I thought that my time here had taught me a lot but this film proved that there is still much I need to learn. I enjoyed watching Julie become more attached to the idea of naturism throughout the film and especially threw her time in France, although she was very brave to start with, stripping off in her first visit to a club with little concern.
