I do a bit of woodwork as a hobby, though the bath is way beyond my skills and tools. So far I've mad a multi-level cat stand (scratching post), a sturdy workbench for my garage (to aid in my other hobby of restoring cars), and a coffee table.
I have a friend who is a qualified carpenter. Interstingly he gave it up for another career path because it turns out that most carpenters don't actually get to practice their craft. Most of them end up doing repairs and maintenance (handyman stuff), or they work on a production line where they don't make a table, they make a peice of a table, 20 times a day.
