Looked into the game and it looks pretty awesome! How do you go about getting the beta? Is there a way to get it without buying the actual game?

well first of all believe it or not, the game will be FREE TO PLAY!! and I got into the beta because I played the original planetside (they let original players into the very first wave) the easiest way to get into the beta is spam their twitter account with messages  they are always giving out keys on there.

Also the game is very demanding, you'll need a fairly hefty computer (I can play battlefield 3 seamlessly at 60fps, i get about 40fps in this game and around 25fps is huge battles), but optimisations are coming!! its more CPU intensive than anything if you have an i5 or something similar you should be good :)

I have 8gb ram, intel i5 2400 (3.1GHz), EVGA GTX550 Ti. U think that will handle it? Its a custom build but I really dont do any PC gaming. Was looking into a few games so that I could try it out and this one looks awesome

That should be fine, its hard to say, there still in the process of optimising the client, so some systems work really well and some just plain don't. But I think you should be ok with what you have probably around 30-40fps :)

Awesome! I loved this game! Havent played it for a LONG time. Will have to dig it out. I feel like most of the games for N64 were awesome: Zelda Ocarina of Time, Mario64. I to this day think that Mario 64 is the best game ever, and espically for the time that it was sold.

The partner and I have been playing Borderlands 2 co-op off and on since the day it came out. We were pleased to discover that Moxxxi can hand out some interesting weaponry. Ones that drain the controller battery, so to say.

I've just started Mass Effect 2 (late, I know...)

Some really, really brilliant level design - at least some sections are very atmospheric - but I'll be damned if it's not a lazy console port when you get to the controls. I don't understand it - the graphics are much better than they would be on a console, but for some reason they didn't think to take five minutes to set up the controls for a keyboard properly.

And I know it can't take that much more than five minutes because it only took me about ten to crack open their stupid compilable .ini file and manually split apart and remap all the controls, and I'm coming at it without any actual access to the damn game files.

Now it actually controls like a PC game, it's bloody good fun.
