And now there are four and I have no idea who is the likely winner.  The All Blacks remain a threat but are carrying a lot of injuries, Australia can win but have to overcome the hoodoo of Eden Park, France, well it is only a matter of which team will turn up for the semi against Wales.  And Wales, looking good in strong company - can they hold form playing Rugby the way it is intended to be played?

Now another clarification:

Soccer is a term for the "beautiful game" properly known as Football and having a World Cup contested by nearly every country on Earth;

Union is a term for the "game they play in heaven" properly known as Rugby and having a World Cup contested by 108 nations across the Earth;

Gridiron is a term used by the history student for the game properly known as American (and sometimes Canadian) Football and a derivative of Rugby.  As far as I can determine there is no competition of quality on a global scale between nations;

Cross Country Wrestling or Super League or NRL  or rather stupidly "the greatest game of all" is a term used for the oval ball sport properly known as Rugby League. Also a derivative of Rugby but with a World Cup consisting of 12 -16 nations of whom all players live in either England, France, Australia or New Zealand.

Then there is Australian Football and Gaelic Football which seem related but as one is rooted in cricket and the other is a variation of football it should seem odd that occasionally they play a hybrid of both games against each other.

Please read understand and get the terms right!

Leah despite there not being a competition on a global scale between teams, superbowl winners still call themselves "world champions". So go figure!!!

Go wallabies!  :66664333

The AB's way too powerful for the Aussies last night ... Quade Cooper didn't rise to the occasion, Dagg / Jane magnificent under high-ball pressure, Cruden did everything that was asked of him.  Our scrum blew theirs away, and they rarely got go-forward ball.  As always, Ritchie McCaw led from the front and showed no sign of his foot injury.

I would have preferred to have played Wales in the final (they deserved it, but just couldn't convert their penalties which the only reason they're not there).  I think France were lucky to scrape through, and if the ABs put another performance together like last night next week, it'll be a walk over in the final.

BUT ... the French being the French ... you just never know.

The French are bad but not the best, they have already beaten the black so masterful, but also took great derusted. It will certainly have the tension of the two sides.

The black is still the best in the world, but as I hope the French still win blue

Congratulations New Zealand!! only by 1 point, but that's all you need for victory. Well played France.

Also Congratulations to Australia for defeating Wales to finish 3rd in the 2011 World Cup.

Would you have still made this post if this (very close) result had gone the other way?   :rolleyes:

Danee sorry but I have a fair play, provided that the rules are strictly adhered to by the referee. A referee can make mistakes, but in that game that was not the case

This is not a story to go one way or the other is that arbitration was not impartial.

I also followed this World Cup and I must say that despite their defeat against the All Black during the final, the French Rugby team did a very honourable match!  :2345
