RIP Marco Simoncelli

Marco Simoncelli succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident on lap 2 of the Malaysian Moto GP. The race was red flagged, then cancelled before news of his death was released.

Marco was the 2008 250cc World Champion and last week had his best premier class result after he finished 2nd at the Australian Moto GP.

The other riders involved in the accident were Valentino Rossi who was able to ride back to his garage, and Colin Edwards is believed to have sustained a dislocated shoulder.

I saw the accident. That looked awful. Poor guy was only 24.

A great loss to motorsport. He had so much potential. He was having a strong season too as he did last year in his rookie season. Such a shame
