Movies that have made you cry...
« on: November 15, 2011, 02:39:38 pm »
Nothing about being macho or not macho - admit it, there are some movies out there that just get to you... it's not a bad thing - its human nature -  :3145

For me, the *first* movie that got to me was "Where the Red Fern Grows" - the book is sad and the movie is just as bad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_the_Red_Fern_Grows

What are some movies that get to you?

Here's the big ones.
Also the finale for That 70's Show. I loved that show, hated to see it end.

Haha awesome examples guys! Yea so I forgot about Up, Braveheart, etc - off the top of my head though, it has to go to Where the Red Fern Grows.

I guess being a animal lover plays a major factor too lol!

I'll cry at Braveheart, but for my country's history that is being butchered

Agreed, but it does take some serious skill to butcher the original story so horrifically and still make such an epic movie.

Its a bit like Britain making a film in which Benjamin Franklin is the hero of America's independence (who spends the film wearing a world war 2 army uniform), and has to overcome everyone turning against him, including George Washington who fights for the British, and in the middle of it all he has an affair with Queen Victoria. He also spends quite a bit of time in Washington state (it looks so pretty on camera up there!).

And he does all of this with a hint of an eastern European accent.

So what's historically inaccurate about this?

It sounds awesome to me.

When I was a kid, the ending to ET use to make me cry, I watched it again recently and not so much anymore.

Since I was a kid I haven't cried watching movies or TV shows but I have come close:

Spock’s death and funeral at the end of Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, is one.  The whole end of Lord of the Rings the Return of the King, is another.  And Schindler's list.
