Day 1 - My favorite song is 'Survive' by Rise Against "Survive" Music Video by Rise Against (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC11yI21EJE#)
-
Just to keep the selections broad, I'll be sprinkling some classical stuff in here. Let's kick off with the most awesome bit of music ever, when Holst invented heavy rock almost a century ago:
Gustav Holst - The Planets - Mars, the Bringer of War (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0bcRCCg01I#)
-
This is my all time favorite song.
Metallica - Fade To Black (HD) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLE7hcSgxlM#ws)
:323232
-
All-time favorite for today? Europe - The Final Countdown:
Europe -- The Final Countdown [[ Official Live Video ]] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DuoPBKl2go#)
By the way, you either have one of the dates wrong or you are leaving a gap. June does not have 29 days.
-
By the way, you either have one of the dates wrong or you are leaving a gap. June does not have 29 days.
Ahh, fixed. Thanks
-
This has been my favourite song since I was about 9.
Van Halen - Dreams + lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhtednkzJl4#)
And it's all thanks to Power Rangers.
-
We should probably tag the songs with the current day (as it is pretty much always two different days in the world and having to trace time zones would ruin the experience).
Day 2, least favorite song:
Andrea Berg-Du hast mich 1000 Mal belogen - Aspach live (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjGN92hISYk#ws)
-
his math looks good by my count.
How do you answer either of the first 2 questions?
-

Ahh, fixed. Thanks
-
Day 2 - Least favorite song:
HANSON - MMMBop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHozn0YXAeE#)
I really don't understand how it was so popular. How is it even classed as a song?
-
This song annoys me completely! This song was popular in the late 90's and girls went gaga over it, and guys used this to hook up with the girls. I understand that songs can be used like this, but this song I really dislike. The singer is also a Jim Morrison wanna be, which makes it more annoying. Its in spanish but maybe you will find it cool to you... not for me though, but enjoy.
Héroes Del Silencio - La Chispa Adecuada (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUT3umr7u2U#)
-
Top Of The Pops 18th December 1980 (P2) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5TVKhjEVtQ#)

Yep. Missed that.
Here's my Day 2 entry.
Los del Rio - Macarena (Original Video) [HD] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiBYM6g8Tck#ws)
-
Day 2:
La Poignée De Porte (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jBuWtmBPIc#)
-
Day 2:
The Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSD4vsh1zDA#ws)
In my eyes, a stupid anthem for stupid people.
-
My house mates found out about this song and played it incessently for weeks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5D5N8TgBFw# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5D5N8TgBFw#)
It drove me mad but eventually they tired of it. And then it came out in English so they started playing it for weeks again!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUPX0kR06aQ# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUPX0kR06aQ#)
Stuart commented that the video has some heavy duty BOBFOC material. If so then I wish more people had phoned in before it was released.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It works every time.
And the chorus is just bloody vowels! Nonsensical, random, BOBFOC infested vowels!
-
Héroes Del Silencio - La Chispa Adecuada (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUT3umr7u2U#)
It says unavailable in my country...
-
Day 3:
Alestorm - You Are a Pirate! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os5TXyJlEMc#)
YARR HARR FIDDLE-DEE-DEE!
-
I'm going classical again:
P.I.Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake - Waltz - Wolfgang Sawallisch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlKvv83qFhQ#)
-
3 Russian Songs (Rachmaninoff) iii. Powder and Paint (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz3ZIhtOu2U#)
First song has the male choir, second the female and this the third song has it all coming together.
The only contender to this would be Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini.
Daniil Trifonov, Zubin Mehta - Rachmaninov, Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAu6BRWL8p8#ws)
-
Day 3: Happy-makers
Pokémon Believe In Me (Master Quest) Music Video AMV Revamped Version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bSkk68N4f8#ws)
-
I can't think of a happier song:
http://youtu.be/mNrXMOSkBas (http://youtu.be/mNrXMOSkBas)
-
Day 3 - A song that makes you happy:
The Joker - Steve Miller Band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmVusVh4TRQ#)
Not only does it make me happy, but chills me out too. Especially playing it on my bass, its so relaxing.
-
Day 3:
Colbie Caillat - Brighter Than The Sun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU5o6M7S5nQ#ws)
-
Héroes Del Silencio - La Chispa Adecuada (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUT3umr7u2U#)
It says unavailable in my country...
try searching for the same song as the studio version. Band name: Heroes del Silencio. song tittle: "La Chispa adecuada. :azn:
Day 3:
I have two songs. The first one is such a positive song, with a real positive message, which always puts me on a great mood. Its from Alter Bridge. Song is: "Metalingus". I first heard it as WWE's Edge entrance theme song.
WWE | Edge Face Titantron 2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wuA9V_sqRA#ws)
Second song I really like because it also has a real happy vibe to it. Alice in Chains, "No Excuses". Enjoy. :azn:

I love Metalingus!!! I had it as my ringtone for about 18 months. Great choice!
-
Day 4:
Frankly anything by Stevie Ray Vaughan is tinged with sadness, but this one especially so. Expect to hear more from this guy later in the thread:
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing - HIGH QUALITY VERSION - Special TRIBUTE VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWcUJxrih5M#)
-
Day 4 - A song that makes you sad
OK, this song (and especially the video) always puts a lump in my throat.
Johnny Cash - Hurt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aF9AJm0RFc#)
-
Day 4:
Michael Jackson - Someone in the dark (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrEnN2W4imY#ws)
I think this one's sadder for me because I didn't hear it until AFTER Michael died. That, and hearing E.T.'s voice in there.
-
Day 4: A song that makes me sad...
This one was a hard choice. I have plenty of sad songs, but no really depressing ones. Mainly either songs of bittersweet joy or of awakening resolve. But I am picking this song, with a horribly deinterlaced video.
Gackt - Last Song -Unplugged- [Eng sub] HQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG4dFEaIb4A#ws)
-
I actually never listen to this because I don't like being sad. But I have in the past when depressed and it is a truly beautiful symphony. From wikipedia:
A solo soprano sings a different Polish text in each of the three movements. The first is a 15th-century Polish lament of Mary, mother of Jesus, the second a message written on the wall of a Gestapo cell during World War II, and the third a Silesian folk song of a mother searching for her son killed in the Silesian uprisings.[2] The first and third movements are written from the perspective of a parent who has lost a child, and the second movement from that of a child separated from a parent. The dominant themes of the symphony are motherhood and separation through war.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._3_%28G%C3%B3recki%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphony_No._3_%28G%C3%B3recki%29)
I give you ...
Henryk Gorecki-Symphony No. 3: II. Lento E Largo - Tranquillissimo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R90vDLHGs1Q#)
-
This is one of a few that I can't listen to anymore due to hearing them at funerals.
Simon and Garfunkle 'Bridge over Troubled Water'
-
Day 5: A song that reminds you of someone.
Sum 41 - The Hell Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pE8ReA5cn4#)
This one reminds me of a friend I haven't seen in a while. She considers this her theme song.
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6oDdgrbmeE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6oDdgrbmeE)
-
Day 5 - A song that reminds you of someone:
This song reminds me of my grandad. He used to sing it all the time. Or rather, he used to sing the title line over and over.
Paul McCartney & Wings - Mull of Kintyre 1977 Video stereo widescreen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFRcMYjut4o#ws)
-
Day 5 for me, too. Back in highschool, i began to associate some of the lyrics in this with a friend's crazy controlling ex-girlfriend:
Luca Turilli - Black Realms' Majesty (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaOMriMoVmc#)
-
Day 5.
1st girlfriend
Berlin - Take My Breath Away (Official Music Video) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjrN0TarajU#ws)
-
First Holidays with Girlfriend at Greece !
ub40 every breath you take (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q8hzs1mkxI#ws)
-
Day 6:
http://youtu.be/DsRwg0Mul7A (http://youtu.be/DsRwg0Mul7A)
Reminds me of the Italian alps, which were more magnificent than most buildings I saw in Rome (baroque style is not the best choice for church design).
-
Day 6: A song that reminds you of somewhere.
Medwyn Goodall- Invocation (1) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6srtF_8cGI#)
This, nay, the whole album reminds me of Cornwall thanks to holidays there with my family. Despite its native American sound.
-
Day 6: A song that reminds you of somewhere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hUy9ePyo6Q (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hUy9ePyo6Q)
This song reminds me Luiziana.
-
Day 6:
Big Sugar - All Hell for a Basement
All Hell For a Basement/Heaven In Alberta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilWj3OEugTY#)
-
Day 7:
Icona Pop - I Love It (Tiësto's Club Life Remix) [Club Life Vol.3 Stockholm] [EDC Chicago HQ Rip] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNCJ-mOXMOI#ws)
Heard that remix first when i was on my way to the "Vienna Pride Opening Party" some days ago ...
-
Day 7: event reminder
The song I picked for my high school graduation ceremony that never happened.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSOC_4ssuyE&feature=youtube_gdata_player (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSOC_4ssuyE#)
-
Day 7:
Tattoo - Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells) [HQ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3kS3kjJHjo#)
I associate this with my first trip to London for Comic Con. Something went wrong with people's music selections in the Masquerade so they kept playing bits of Tubular Bells 2. This one featured a lot.
-
Day 7: When I moved to Germany, I drove over going through the Channel Tunnel, and this was the first song I head on the radio when I came out the other side. And no, I'm not kidding!
David Hasselhoff - Du.flv (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmibSTB5GHI#)
-
This reminds me when I played this for the first time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HP04nfUi4g (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HP04nfUi4g)
-
Day 7: When I moved to Germany, I drove over going through the Channel Tunnel, and this was the first song I head on the radio when I came out the other side. And no, I'm not kidding!
David Hasselhoff - Du.flv (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmibSTB5GHI#)
Whereas when we finally got to move back to Scotland after a disasterous 3 years living in England, we were playing these two versions (first one is from a popular advert, second one is a very beautiful version):
Caledonia ( Frankie Miller ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZrdo1PuUvQ#)
Celtic Woman - Caledonia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v28is4jFWeo#)
Now when I listen to these songs I think of 5 months without a shower, little prospect of a job or a chance to own a house, and of course the weather. At least I got some paragliding done though although probably not last year judging by how crap the summer was in the UK.
-
Why on earth haven't I seen this thread!
Day 07: A song that reminds you of a certain event - Muse/The 2nd Law:Unsustainable. Fist time I ever saw these guys, first song they played and what a show it was!
Muse - The 2nd Law: Unsustainable (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF_xdvn52As#ws)
-
Why on earth haven't I seen this thread!
Ok I'm starting now:
Day 01: Your favourite song - The Joy Formidable/Little Blimp
If I read the OP correctly, you are supposed to join in on the day we are all at.
-
Moby - Porcelain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13EifDb4GYs#)
reminds my some acting in theatre at school... uhhh... 10 years passed :)
-

Yes you are right, post modified :azn:
-
For some reason I don't really associate songs with events but here goes:
Phantom of the Opera - Pantages Theatre, Toronto ~1991
Phantom of the Opera - Music of the Night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8Zci-3ZvYg#noexternalembed-ws)
-
Day 08: A song that you know all the words to
A song? I know the words to the whole musical! Here's my favourite song from it:
Lea Salonga - On My Own (Les Misérables) [720p] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjfmP7h3gBw#ws)
-
Day 7: When I moved to Germany, I drove over going through the Channel Tunnel, and this was the first song I head on the radio when I came out the other side. And no, I'm not kidding!

And as a brief aside, here's the advert it came from, which summed up perfectly our situation and what we were doing:
Tennent's Lager "Caledonia" advert (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX9h558Tz1E#ws)
-
Apocalyptica - Pandemonium (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DwmkMGdWJg#)
no lyrics here, easy to remember :)
-
Day 8:
"Weird Al" Yankovic - Jurassic Park (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh4zvQfDhi0#)
-
Day 8: Know ALL the words! Know ALL the words?
At first I thought of the Major-General's song or one of the countless songs I have heard the hell out of, but I feel a bit more confident in this:
Portal - 'Still Alive' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ljFaKRTrI#)
Speaking of the Major-General's song, The Elements by Tom Lehrer would also have worked.
-
Day 08: A song that you know all the words to.
Blondie Atomic (Official Video). (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tko1G6XRiQ#)
-
Day 8 - A song that you know all the words too:
Green Day - Basket Case [Official Music Video] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUTGr5t3MoY#)
I once sang this song in karaoke, using a different accent for every verse and chorus. It was hilarious.
-
Day 8 - A song that you know all the words to
Badgers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIyixC9NsLI#)
-
Day 8 - A song that you know all the words to
Badgers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIyixC9NsLI#)
I prefer this version:
Badgers | 10 Hours (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGlyFc79BUE#ws)
-
Day 8:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PfWcEi6Q2-U (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PfWcEi6Q2-U)
-
Day 8:
A song about my hometown
Barrett's Privateers by Stan Rogers
Barrett's Privateers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rz0cv0cLpc#)
-
Day 4:
Michael Jackson - Someone in the dark
I think this one's sadder for me because I didn't hear it until AFTER Michael died. That, and hearing E.T.'s voice in there.
That's an excellent and surprising choice. I wouldn't have thought anyone your age would've known of E.T. considering I was 5 when I saw it in the theatre and I'm significantly older than you. For me that one was more nostalgic for both E.T. (childhood) and early solo Michael.
-
Day 8:
A song about my hometown
Barrett's Privateers by Stan Rogers
Barrett's Privateers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rz0cv0cLpc#)
And for those of us from Edinburgh:
The Corries Barrett's Privateers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VKQ4qlZqm8#)
-
I don't really have a home town but I was born in Rugby in England, although moved away when I was still too young to remember. Here are some devastating songs sung before a match:
"The Flower of Scotland" Scotland V England Rugby Match 1990 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNVHRdORy3Y#)
Rugby All Blacks NZ Haka 2012 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eybwV2OFaWg#ws)
-
How did hometowns enter this?
Day 9: Dance, my puppets, dance!
I am not much of a dancing person, so the only thing I roughly know the choreography for is this:
[Live HD 720p] 120715 - PSY - Gangnam style (Comeback stage) - Inkigayo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60MQ3AG1c8o#ws)
And even then just the chorus
-
How did hometowns enter this?
Good point! We were obviously the victims of an elaborate ruse.
Bill Bailey - Kraftwerk - Part Troll (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwaxWoJPUC0#ws)
-
How did hometowns enter this?
Good point! We were obviously the victims of an elaborate ruse.
I feel violated.
-
We are the robots
-
How did hometowns enter this?
It just happened to be the only one that I know all the words to - it was either that or 'Happy Birthday'
-
Day 8:
A song about my hometown
Barrett's Privateers by Stan Rogers
And for those of us from Edinburgh:
Weird. But I don't think Stan would mind anyone repurposing the song he wrote.
BTW my hometown is Halifax so both versions work.
:66664333
-
Day 9.
A song you can dance to.
This about the extent of my dancing ability - it's wickedy-wickedy whack you know ;)
Actually my first choice was 'House of Pain - Jump Around' but then I listened to the lyrics and I can't believe they let us play that song at school dances.
Kris Kross - Jump (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=010KyIQjkTk#)
-
How did hometowns enter this?
It just happened to be the only one that I know all the words to - it was either that or 'Happy Birthday'
And everybody followed as if what you had announced was the theme of the day.
-
:909
OOPS!
-
Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Riviera paradise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x70G-NhyUPI#)
-
Day 10: Falling asleep to music is not something I do, but this is a song I think would not keep me awake effectively:
Luca turilli- Zaephyr Skies´ theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRM44xlbuSg#)
-
Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep
I wish sleeping was as easy as that. This song brings me as close to sleep as any song can:
Chicane - Poppiholla (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfZkdthPOTA#ws)
-
Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep
I wish sleeping was as easy as that. This song brings me as close to sleep as any song can:
Ditto.
I've got nuthin'
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCjJyiqpAuU#ws)
-
Day 11: A song from your favourite band
Rise Against are my favorite band, and I've already posted my favorite song by them so I'll go for my 2nd favorite. It is very different from the song that I posted before, and is something you would not expect from Rise Against. But is sooo good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BblV6AQsd2s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BblV6AQsd2s#)
-
Day 11:
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (U2) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhi6nNYNOxQ#)
-
Day 12:
I don't think I hate any bands but here goes:
BARNEY SONGS complete 42mins from DVD with more than 20 songs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcQPUm-UYXo#)
-
Whoops, missed Day 11 ([noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0yYxOV-bRU[/noembed]).
As for bands I hate... I am pretty non-passionate about the songs I do not like, so I do not really 'hate' any band.
Well, to be fair, I do hate the beach party songs common of Germans going on a vacation to Mallorca, so here is a somewhat randomly-picked representative of that:
Ballermann Hits Party 2012 (CD1) - 10. DJ Marc B feat. Alice + Olaf Henning - Cowboy & Indianer (HD) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04DGVcLi_4A#)
-
I've missed a lot of days.... Oh well.
Day 12:
Abba - Dancing Queen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFrGuyw1V8s#)
I hate them so much, it must be abnormal. Just the first few notes of this alone sends me into a rage.
-
Day 12: A song from a band you hate
I really, really hate My Chemical Romance and as this is the song that I just can't seem to avoid I thought it would be the perfect choice.
My Chemical Romance - "Welcome to the Black Parade" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDWgsQhbaqU#)
-
@Chris I'm not a big MCR fan but that is one of the few songs that I actually like from them.
Not sure how've I've missed this thread but here's my day 12:
One of the their songs I can actually tolerate but...
Bon Jovi - It's My Life (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx2u5uUu3DE#)
-
I've missed a lot of days.... Oh well.
No worries to all.
Just participate as much as possible as this is fascinating and fun!
-
I've missed a lot of days.... Oh well.
Day 12:
Abba - Dancing Queen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFrGuyw1V8s#)
I hate them so much, it must be abnormal. Just the first few notes of this alone sends me into a rage.
And I'll have that one as Day13: A guilty pleasure :624

Day 13:
Super Ponybeat — Find a Pet (Euro Mix) by Eurobeat Brony (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ-oY158b_0#)
Actually almost everything by Eurobeat Brony, but since we're only posting one, I picked my personal favourite.
-
Day 13: A song that is a guilty pleasure.
As a bassist in a punk band, most people wouldn't think that I am a 90's dance fan at heart. My guiltiest pleasure is probably Vengaboys and this is my favorite song by them.
Vengaboys - Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llyiQ4I-mcQ#ws)
-
Day 13: Guilty pleasure
Dr. Robotnik - Tomorrow I'll (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWxkqcwqnp8#)
-
Day 13. Guilty Pleassure
Aqua - Barbie Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyhrYis509A#ws)
i guess a lot of Songs from that "ära" will be found as guilty pleassures ... ;)
-
Day 13:
Lady Gaga - Born This Way (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV1FrqwZyKw#ws)
I've got that Vengaboys song in my collection somewhere and that Dr. Robotnik vid was hilarious!
-
Day 14: A song that no one would expect you to love.
Well I could pick the Vengaboys, but just to keep the thread varied I will go with Mumford & Sons
Mumford & Sons - Hopeless Wanderer. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ptM0B4tcWM#ws)
-
Day 14: A song that no one would expect you to love.
I bet you didn't see this coming
Flower duet - Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca (Lakmé de Delibes) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf42IP__ipw#)
I believe I first encountered this song in the movie 'Carlito's Way' when Carlito (Al Pacino) was standing outside in the rain watching his flame (Penelope Anne Miller) at ballet practice.
-
Day 14: surprising likes
Potentia Animi - Gaudete (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MC9e327rkU#)
I am usually more sophisticated than that.
-
:909
WTF was that?
-
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcu7pa_spice-girls-say-you-ll-be-there_music#.UcK9spybeDo (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcu7pa_spice-girls-say-you-ll-be-there_music#.UcK9spybeDo)
-
Day 14:
Owl City - Fireflies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psuRGfAaju4#ws)
If I have kids, this could be their lullaby.
-
Day 14.
Don't know any of their other music but this song became stuck in my head when it just came out.
La Roux - Bulletproof (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk8eJh4i8Lo#ws)
-
Day 15: A Song That Describes You
I cry FOUL
Can't find a one that covers more than a sliver.
'All Hell for a Basement' is a good start though.
-
Day 15: A Song That Describes You
Took me forever to find the right song for this and then I came up with 2. I chose this one though just because of the title.
The Ramones - I Don't Want To Grow Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU2SRNU955c#)
-
Day 15: Identity
Mind more powerful than body? Check.
Detached from humanity? Check.
I can identify with Raistlin Majere from Dragonlance.
THe song I choose: Blind Guardian - The Soulforged
Blind Guardian - The Soulforged (Studio Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RmcmwD-rOM#ws)
-
Day 16: All the love is gone
pretty much any German rap song. From a time I liked the genre solely for its glorification of antisocial behavior. I do not want to be reminded of that, but for the sake of this game, here goes:
Bushido - Bei Nacht (Live) (HD) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCH0Vl2Djqs#ws)
-
Day 16:
That's a good tactic Delta - I find it difficult to find songs that I hate because they're just gone (off the radar). However in light of your post you could probably put me down for some older angry rap - it's like 'really?' I can't believe I used to listen to that crap or maybe it was just playing at the place where I was at the time.
'You Mean I'm Not' by Blacksheep
'Straight Outta Locash' by CB4
etc.
Embarrassing
-
Yeah, songs one is just tired of do not really become "hated". A song from a past I am not proud of just fit the premise better. A past I am not proud of, that also fits the lyrics of one line of "The Soulforged" well, another reason I picked it yesterday.
-
Day 16:
Black Sabbath - Paranoid (1970) (Official Video) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8w4u-GbEw4#ws)
I don't hate it, but I've heard it so many times I could die happy if I never hear it again.
-
Day 17: Radio song
I do not always listen to radio, but when I do, few songs are memorable. I am going with this one, not because I like it (not too bad though), but because it is such an ear worm that it pops up with the thought of radio, which is also in the lyrics:
Marit Larsen - If A Song Could Get Me You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2eCiRVYTUY#ws)
-
Day 17: On the Radio
A bit of Canadiana
Serena Ryder - Stompa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz7jCY1cpHk#ws)
-
I very rarely listen to radio these days. By walking past shops that play the radio etc. this song seems to pop up a lot
Daft Punk - Get Lucky (Official Audio) ft. Pharrell Williams (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NV6Rdv1a3I#ws)
-
Day 17:
Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA4iX5D9Z64#ws)
Radio stations have no imagination.
-
Day 17:
On the radio NON STOP....
Imagine Dragons - Radioactive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvTqknDobU#ws)
-
Day 18: A song that you wish you heard on the radio
I could really pick just about anything that I listen to. In terms of 'old school music' radio stations, I wish this was played more often.
Living Colour - Cult Of Personality (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xxgRUyzgs0#)
-
Play GTA San Andreas with Radio X on, it is in there.
As for myself, I would like to see J-Rock more popular in the west. And this long-gone TV spinoff to become a more lasting band.
Tetra Fang - Destinys Play (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_peuEGB-iO8#ws)
-
Day 18: Wish you Heard on the Radio
An anti-Imperialist protest song by a Chicago group called the Tossers
the tossers - ballad of NATO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfESEV5eLPE#)
-
Day 18:
Klaus Nomi - Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vXR5gjRMPk#)
My dad played me this one after Maggie kicked the bucket.
-
Day 18:
PAIN"Season Of The Reaper" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI-OScDo41E#)
-
Day 19: A song from your favorite album
I had some trouble deciding what my favorite album is. I have already posted a couple of Rise Against songs so I decided to go with Out Come The Wolves, by Rancid.
Then I had trouble deciding which song to pick, because they are all great on that album. So I just played the album on shuffle and posted the first song that come on. Which was...
Rancid - Olympia WA. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7SjDgy0B_k#)
-
Day 19: Favorite album
I filed a song from the album under "favorite band" already, but it is still The Black Halo by Kamelot, with songs like Nothing Ever Dies:
"LineageII -Kamelot-Nothing Ever Dies" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k49QHdRwmf8#)
-
Best metal album ever:
Metallica- For Whom The Bell Tolls Lyrics [Studio version HQ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws11ARi9lr8#ws)
-
Day 19:
Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPbqQOf41Qc#)
UP THE IRONS!
-
Day 19:
Dream Theater - Panic Attack + Lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hDs6mCVAKs#)
-
Day 19:
Like Question 1: Impossible.
How do you pick just one?
:56789
-
Day 20: A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Avenged Sevenfold - Chapter Four (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=433S3tuuB94#ws)
-
Day 20:
Slipknot - My Plague HD [1080P] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m62hLa0fXM#)
-
Day 20: Anger
Epica Resign To Surrender A New Age Dawns Part IV [With Lyrics] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vN77Yh3CHE#)
The most metal song ever.
-
Never mind thrash, techno, or any of that. This uses weapons of war as an instrument!
Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture (Full with Cannons) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbxgYlcNxE8#)
-
Indeed, a great song, especially with the cannons, but not one I would associate with anger. The cannon portion is more about triumph.
-
Day 20:
My angry music.
AC/DC - Thunderstruck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2AC41dglnM#)
-
Day 21: Happiness
Pokemon - You Can Do It (If You Really Try) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT1p9lo9QUw#)
-
Day 21: Happiness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=astISOttCQ0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=astISOttCQ0#)
-
Day 21: A song that you listen to when you’re happy
This could really be anything. Just to add some variety Im going to go for something completely different and pick a classical tune played on guitar.
MattRach - Canon Rock Final (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wam-oMub8EU#)
-
Day 21:
Shrek The Third soundtrack 10. Eels - Losing Streak (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyfOdFPdB3c#)
-
Day 21: A Song I Listen to when I'm Happy
Barry White... Al Green... etc.. ;)
Anything by Susanna Hoffs
Susanna Hoffs Matthew Sweet Different Drum (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRO5ZZuJGYI#)
-
Day 22: Sadness
Epica - Run For A Fall With Lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TT87u5RQiA#)
-
Day 22:
Gorillaz - Broken (track 11 from the album Plastic Beach) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD9Yk0PiarM#ws)
-
Day 22:
Listen to when I'm sad.
Typically something to get me going again.
N.S.'s Rankin Family
THE RANKIN FAMILY Belle Of Belfast City ~ Mo Rùn Gheal Dìleas ~ Hogmanay 1992 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF5g6ajFGr0#)
Found this by accident...
CELTICA 2012 - Gens D'Ys "The Belle Of Belfast City" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xILJEJb5WLQ#ws)
Kirsty MacColl version I believe
-
Day 23: Wedding Song
Which part of wedding? Reception? Something you can do the electric slide to is pretty much a requirement.
Otherwise fit this one in somewhere.
True Romance # You're so cool! - Hans Zimmer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ab1l2TwFp8#)
-
Karla should have marched down the aisle to this:
Star Wars- The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bzWSJG93P8#)
-
Not that I am interested in marrying at any time, but I feel this song:
Frank Sinatra: Love and Marriage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRDBvKGc1fE#)
is underused at actual marriages. Probably because of its association with Married... with Children, but that is precisely why I would like to hear it used more often.
-
Not that I am interested in marrying at any time,
You never know buddy. People evolve - some things sneak up on you. BTW I had no idea that song was A. Real or B. Frank Sinatra!
-
Day 23:
Final Fantasy XII - Final Fantasy FFXII Version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVhkE8em0WI#)
Something a little more unorthodox...
-
Ah, the Final Fantasy theme. Great song.
Day 24: The fun before -eral.
It is from a kids' show I have only been into for around a year, but I still believe this is the best memorial song ever:
Stay the ride alive MV (with eng subs) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ah_OIshFHI8#ws)
-

Anyway as a bizarre hack/work-around if you want to see it - hit reply and the embedded links become active in the topic summary.

Day 25: A song that makes you laugh
The Bricklayer's Song (The Sick Note) - Corries (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38v0Kj86MhA#)
-
Day 25: A song that makes you laugh
OK this is really hard because a lot of the songs that I find funny, some will find offensive. I will try go for something a little more tame.
Talk To Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1QAsPLNDVc#)
-
OK this is really hard because a lot of the songs that I find funny, some will find offensive. I will try go for something a little more tame.
I almost went for "Hasa Diga Eebowai" before I thought better of it.
-

I had no idea what that was so I looked it up, and I love it :909 :909 :909
Great name for a band too

I can probably get away with "I Believe":
I Believe - The Book of Mormon - Andrew Rannells - Tony Awards 2011 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlbDHejQFV4#ws)
-
Day 25:
Fabulous Secret Powers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FR7wOGyAzpw#)
MYEAAAH!
-
Day 26: Instrumental skills.
I suck at instruments, but I can at least play the violin intro in this one:
rhapsody of fire - the march of the swordmaster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-TZIfpycY8#)
Yes, I have enough trouble playing keyboard one-handed. I suck like that.
There is another song I can play parts of similarly well, but that is for another day.
-
Day 26: A song that you can play on an instrument
Again, a tough choice. I am tempted to plug one of my own songs but instead I will pick the song I enjoy playing the most which is...
Rise Against - Like the Angel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0bUgbbOp5w#)
-
Day 26: A Song you can play on an instrument
How To Play "Hot Cross Buns" On The Recorder (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFsK2yIG7G8#ws)

The Who - Baba O'riley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2KRpRMSu4g#)
-
Day 27: A song that you wish you could play
As a punk bassist, playing like Matt Freeman has to be my ultimate goal. This is the perfect example of how insanely talented he is.
Rancid - Maxwell Murder Live (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFwt97z_S0U#)
-
Day 27:
Eric Johnson - Cliffs Of Dover 1990 (UMG) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OI9qcTwRN4#)
I love music. I've just never been any good at playing it. At all. This is the impossible dream.

Day 28 - guilty
Always by Erasure - just like anything from robot unicorn attack it becomes some guilty pleasure. I only listen in-game though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC_Y4zOUdcI&feature=youtube_gdata_player (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC_Y4zOUdcI&feature=youtube_gdata_player)
-
Day 28:
Blink 182 - I Miss you (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2yStD2GWhU#)
Why guilty? Because it reminds me that I should have grown some balls and actually asked her out before someone else did.
-
Day 28: Guilty Pleasure
'cuz why not?
THE BELLE STARS - Iko Iko (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP01RNDDsPM#)

-
Day 30: Favourite song this time last year.
I'm not sure if this has to be a song that was released around this time last year or whether it can just be your favorite song. As I have already posted my favorite song I will go with my favorite song that was released this time last year.
Fun.: We Are Young ft. Janelle Monáe [OFFICIAL VIDEO] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv6dMFF_yts#ws)

Bedouin Soundclash - St. Andrews (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZw2J2kfM44#)

Would you all who posted be interested? Or have you had enough after this one?
Thank you to all who have taken part too.
