Title: Barclays Premiership: 09/10 Season
Post by: Alex on August 14, 2009, 09:27:25 am
So basically, transfer gos, predictions, banter you know the footballing sort.

Liverpool to win, Man U second, and City 3rd.

Discuss.

1. Man U
2. Chelsea
3. Liverpool
4. Man City

People think with Ronaldo gone, Man U can't do it, but this is Rooney's season, he'll get the goals, with help from Owen suprisingly :S. Valencia is Ronaldo's speed and skill so were set :P

I dont think Liverpool can repeat last years "best season in 20 years" but they'll still come third.

Arsenal are about to lose Fabregas to Barca, theyve already lost Toure and Adebayor, who were key players in their side. They'll only have Arshavin left. They've been fighting to keep 4th place for years now, but now they cant keep up and City will capitalise

1. Chelsea (first season without big signings, that's gonna work for them)
2. Liverpool (for Alex)
3. OR 18.  Man City (it's either very good, or very bad).
4. Man Utd.
...
6. Arsenal.

In conclusion, you're all fools and Chelsea pulled off a typical last minute scummy win against a noble Hull team ^^

You looking forward to Liverpool thrashing Spurs tomorrow Tod? ;)

True, although it made me laugh when he admitted he was trying to cross it in his interview straight after the match xD

Just watched the reply. The ref ignored one clear penalty and another that was harder to see, but should have been anyway. Urrgh, please bring in video refs like in rugby.

Don't worry Alex, they were beaten by the best!  :786 Oh and 2-1 isn't a really big scoreline. Just think about this one...Everton : 1 Arsenal : 6

Have people forgotten Man U are still here??? We may have lost to Burnley but that was away, Carricks being swapped for Modric, and I see big things for Burnley!

We are the most consistent team in the league. Liverpool dont have a chance, Chelsea will lose out and Arsenal will be the most ill consistent team in the league while we cruise to victory :098

Liverpool showed Man U how to play football today, I am elated.

And Tottenham lost.

That is all.

ummmmmm, losing the last 4 games in a row before today? yeah thats really showing they know how to play football alexis  :786

Ahh but see, you aren't debating what you're quoting my friend ^^ What happened before today wasn't even mentioned in my post. We've had an awful run these last few weeks, but today we showed Man United how to play football. Period.

By the way, bad luck Arsenal ;)

Well Spurs first loss in 5 games...and only by 1 goal in the final minutes....a rare smile from you Alex? ;)

Mark my words, this is the beginning of the end. Redknapp is a genius manager a I think he's done very, very well. But without a stronger squad, there's only so long Spurs will stay top 4 before injury, fatigue and squad depth put them out of contention.

(First of all I am a Man U fan, but I have always had a fondness for Spurs)
Alex have you forgotten how well Tottenham have done so far without having so many main players out like Michael Dawson??? They have done better than Liverpool in the Table with many injured players. What are they gonna be like when the injuries are gone??? :2345

I'm not going to debate the whole Liverpool debacle of this season - we've played terrible, and there really isn't any defence for it. However, my point about Spurs still stands. They don't have the players with experience of fighting for title or a top-four place. They'll get tired, make mistakes and drop points. They've had an incredible start, but so did Hull last season, and look where they are now...

i TOTALLY agree, im a Pool fan and we are awful this year, we keep going like this and we will be lucky to finish in a Europa League place

as for Spurs, like Villa last season and Everton before that, teams having good "first" top-4 style seasons, always fade after February/March......i think Man City or Spurs might get 4th due to Liverpools fall from grace, but i dont see 4th being close to the top 3 of Chelsea, Arsenal and United

im not going to say its EASY to be top 6 until November, but in the past few years Ipswich, Reading and Hull have all been there, yet are now either Relegated or about to be. Im not saying this will happen to spurs, but now is the time when your squad strangth shows and is traditionally when the weaker teams drop off the pace

I've still got my money on Man U, unfortunately...

but yeah, I can see that its gonna be close between the two anyways.

Man U/Chelsea
Arsenal (hopefully  :786)
Man City
Villa/Liverpool

sorry Alex, just think the Pool might be overtaken into the top 4 this season, kind of hope they do make it in though and keep Man City out.

and as for Tottenham, 3rd relegation place maybe...?  :786  :786
:879 relegation!!!!! Oh noooooooooo!  :909. they'll have to start doing cartwheels for that to happen then.

yeah, unfortunately, my beloved Liverpool are on for a 5th place finish

Spurs are an enigma, they could come 4th or 9th it depends on how healthy they can keep their fragile defenders

The Wigan players are refunding their fans out of their own pockets. Quiet bloody right too, to lose 9-1 at that level is shocking.

yeah i've gotta admit, even though i still hate them that was one hell of a game!  :786 Defoe on his day is incredible.
I think Defoe is consistently good, but he jst doesn't get played that much at Spurs, cuz of Crouch, Keane and Pavlyuchenlo there too. I think he deserves a Top 4 team. I think hecwould be brilliant for Liverpool or Aresenal, but I would love to see him playing for United :786

I think that's very noble of the club but :3145, 9-1 in the Prem is shocking
