Title: How athletic are you?

hi guys,

how much to do sports in the week?

I'm going three days of the week in the fitness-center.
I train my dorsum, stomach, shoulders and arms.
I'm not a bodybuilder. I do this to be my main sports, running, cycling and swimming. I make this in the rest of the week.

I'm curious about what to do you.  :rolleyes:

normaly 5 times a week
and daily jogging about 12 km with my dog is no extra sport

2 times tae kwan doe for 3 hours
2 times carneval dancing for 2 hours
1 or 2 times fitness und heavyweight training in a studio, normaly 1 and half hour

I don't do alot of sport...

4 miles a day walking to/from work (total), plus the occasional swim and bike ride

I run and lift at the gym 5 days a week. Not super-coordinated though, so sports are my best thing. :(

Jogging with my dog is fun... no sport

I'm exactly in the middle of Germany.
I dance in a guard. We see this not only as "Rumgehoppse" but as a real sport, with qualifying tournaments, semi-finals and finals.
With you in Saxony-Anhalt, there are also many good dance guards.
In Stendal and Schönebeck are wonderful guards. The best of your guards are in Obhausen and Quedlinburg.

A Funkenmariechen stands alone as a soloist on stage, I dance only in the group.

Badminton begins 8.30 the evening. Sometimes its too late for me, especially when I met friends the evening before and after a long
day at school ...

It took about a year and a half to cut down and trim up. The first 90 pounds took 10 mouths. The next 25 pounds took about another 6-8 months to cut. I hit a all when I got to 190lbs and had to change up my routine and diet. I walk around high 170s-low 180s. So when it was all said and done I was around 300, now about 180lbs and have been that way for about 3 years now. No surgury, no fad diet, no doctors recommendation just the will power to eat right and work out.

I go to the gym every other day and either do 6 miles on the bike or 2 miles on the treadmill at a 2.0 incline alone with a healthy dose of the AbSolo Machine. As for being Athletic as in sports, you can count me out. Let's just say I was always stuck on Right Field for a reason.

I go gym 6 times a week, do cardio 2 times a week. cardio includes sprints, shuttles, a few drills and a hill run. Hill run will be increased this year as me and my mate gonna use weights on our backs to get even better! Also i go training every sunday!

I run 15-20 miles per week.  I enjoy running but my real motivation is that I enjoy eating and staying skinny!  The mental image of a deep dish pepperoni Chicago-style pizza can take me many miles!

A LOT of mountain biking (less during the summer - not fun in 100+ heat  :879   )


I was doing a lot of mountain biking but then I moved to the mid-west for the winter, bring on the summer so I can hit the trails again!

Other than that I have taken up rock climbing over the winter 3 to 4 times a week
Then I try and hit the gym to do a weights session once a week and a couple of spin classes a week
Now it is getting warmer I'm actually getting some outdoor riding in as well

If I can keep this up I might actually loose the extra pounds I've put on over the two straight winters I've just finished and get back to something like a good weight for riding (and climbing).

No routines for me because of my strange work schedule but I do punish myself to a pool of immovable mush whenever I do work out!  I don't ever use weights, so my workouts consist of tons of different pull ups, dips, and some of my own variations on pilates.  Most of it has a strong focus on endurance.  Currently need to find a good indoor Olympic pool in my area so I can start doing laps again.

Normally i would go for a run twice a week but i am recovering from a broken ankle and cant run properly yet. :-(

I swim once a week for fitness but my main activity is tae kwon do. I train 3 times a week and teach twice a week. Tae kwon do is a massive passion of mine and i enjoy running and swimming. I dont really get on with team sports like football/soccer though.

If the temp is higher than 65 degrees (F) or 19C I think, and not raining, I run 1 and a half to 2 miles a day around the neighborhood.  I've run outside all my life so I dislike gyms and treadmills.  Haven't been on a bike since I wrecked.  I don't mind playing beach volleyball, putt-putt golf, or bowling.  :)

You must be from the south! I see people up here in the mid-west running when it's 20deg F (-8dec C) outside, my partner for one.  Having just moved here myself I think they're crazy, although I did ride my bike in those kinda temps one or twice this past winter.

I go to the gym about 5 times a week for my weight lifting and cardio but as for a sport activity, I like racquetball. A few months ago was able to get my girlfriend to play with me and she likes it but lately she has been hitting me with the ball. :sad:

I go to the gym 3-4 time a week when my schedule permits it. I alternate between running and weights on different days to keep the workout varied and currently I'm up to 6km per run, although I'm aiming to increase that to 10km by the end of July and onwards from there.

i used to be super fit and active then i got married and had kids and then had no time.

Until last year when i signed up to do a 200km bike ride in the name of raising money for Cancer research. Im doing the "ride to conquer Cancer" So now im training for the ride withtwo 35 km ride during the week and a big ride on weekends 65-90km.

I used to do a lot of sports regularly: football, tennis, handball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, track&field athletics, gymnastics, skating, mountain biking...

I really looked a lot like my avatar!

But now my job eats up most of my day and has done so for several years. :(

I've never had skill for nor enjoyment of sports but, as taking care of my body is very important to me, I do go to the gym three or four times a week during the summers.  Working out feels good for me, but I am not a very athletic person that goes and does all of the super intense, hardcore stuff.  I'm also taking Krav Maga classes this summer, but it's nothing serious, haha.

No (though I really like yoga too,) it's a martial art that was developed in Israel and is designed exclusively for self-defense.  It's not competitive or a sport or anything like that- it's just for self-defense, haha.  My sister and I got a Groupon deal for a set number of classes, and it's been pretty fun.  Lots of punching and kicking.

I wrestled all through high school and two years of college and stayed in pretty good shape.   After I stopped wrestling I continue to run about 3 miles but only sporadically as I have a reoccurring pain on the top of my foot.  I still play a lot of disc (Frisbee) golf and that helps.  I need to get off the computer a lil bit more though  :54

I walk 4 kilometres to work and the same back again. Or if I take the bike then I'll cycle back at lunch time. Every other weekend I do a 50 kilometre cycle ride. The problem is that the cycling is hurting my right hand and I need to give it a break because I sit behind a keyboard all day.

Unfortunately I let myself go a bit when I moved to Bavaria and put on some weight and I want to slim down to how I was before. I need to find another job before mid-October and if I have to commute to the middle of the city then I plan to take up some martial arts again.

On work on a landed Oil and Gas rig and my job entails a lot of sitting and staring at a computer screen... for that reason I generally do pullups all night, squats, calf raises, hanging leg raises, pushups (and man varieties of floor exercises) to stay fit. And I try to eat very clean.

Other than that I love playing volleyball, soccer, and just about any other sport when I get the chance. I tried running naked down the beach once.... ONCE! I was introduced to the reason why women wear sports bras! :P

For me it's all about recognizing when I have free time and filling it with something instead of mindlessly wasting it.

They don't have an indoor swimming pool there? NONE!!! is not a good answer.

That being said my answer is NONE!!! or little anyway. Work keeps me somewhat in shape but I should really buy an elliptical.

I've been rock climbing more and more this summer and I just sent my first 5.10 outdoors  :123456 and on the same day I sent my first 5.9 lead climb.  It was a good day climbing, all of the work that I have been doing is starting to pay off.  I still need to loose another 5 - 10 pounds to be really fit but it's coming along!  :63424

I had pretty much the same routine when I was a wrestler.   It sure would have made training more fun if you could do it nude that's for sure.

im a little hap-hazard with mine i, travel a lot for work and often in places where there is no gym. if i can i take my mountain bike and climb some hills or i run for ~ 1hr. If i am somewhere where there is a gym though i try to go 5 times a week.

 I don't have an athletic body, by all means. But somehow, I can put my feet behind my head (not sure if you all can visualize what I mean). But I used to play a lot of sports when i was younger, and I have been walking a lot lately too. Hopefully I can slim down a bit.  :grin:

I go to the gym almost 5 days a week - when school allows. And I'm not morbidly tired. I spend two hours doing weight training. I train for strength and for muscle mass. Flexibility too. I have some equipment at my studio where I can do light workouts (nude) which also keep me awake during nights when I have to read or try to keep focus. I jog during warmer months, during winter times I just walk, because I don't have the lungs for running in winter. I wish I could do martial arts, but my time is limited and my budget isn't really that great. :(

Rugby, soccer, weight-lifting, jogging, everything perhaps? I have a part-time job with my school for officiating matches for the sports that I don't play. I find athletics as a tremendous part to overall health and wellness. Which brings me to the popular internet meme question, "Do you even lift?"

I am an athletic person but I hate going to gym.
I normally play tennis twice a week,about 3 hours at a time.
I run about once a week - not far only about 6km and then on the weekend I normally do a mountain bike ride in the bush,anything from 30km - 50km.
On sundays I normally take part in running or cycles races.

It's early winter in the States, so no running outside at the moment.  :[
I've had to revamp my weekly indoor exercise routine to include:

a 25 minute HIIT workout
a 40 minute yoga series targeting main stretching, abs, and buns
a 25 Barre workout
2 days of incremental workouts to build my endurance up to 3 miles
and a misc. day where I can pick a workout or run outside as it gets warmer.
and one day to rest

Well, I simply cannot seem to bring myself to pick something up repeatedly for the sake of picking it up.

I have been bodybuilding pretty seriously for a few years (with a few rather large setbacks). that's very interesting I would like to know how fast you did progressed in that ? and do you use any booster (compound of vitamins and proteins...)

I don't have any pictures up on here but on another site I rather not share at the moment. I'll get some on here sooner or later with the summer coming up!
But I take a variation of things like whey protein, creatine, fish oils, multi vitamins, pre workouts, and some natural testosterone boosters or regulators. (Not all at once of course!). It has a lot to do with body awareness for me

I lift weights 4 times a week (and i pretty much suck at that lol). Swimming, running, skating depending on my urge to move.

I'm currently cycling 22km a day. That's 11 km each way to and from work.

As an old f$#er ?  Well...   If stuffing my face with spoonfulls of mint-chocolate chip ice cream counts as a sport - then yeah, I'm pretty much a God.

I go to the gym 3 times a week, AFL training twice a week and then a game on the weekend.
So fairly athletic!  :3456 I just can't seem to sit down for too long! hahaha

I like playing sports but I'm not on a school team or anything.  I just do it for fun.  My faves are baseball, running, volleyball, and badmitten.

never was much good at team sports so avoid them still.Go to gym at least 3 times a week and have a personal trainer once or twicea week.

I've always been a sports fanatic, I've been obsessed since I was a little kid.  I've been playing basketball since I was old enough to walk.

I played basketball, ran track and cross country, skied, played volleyball, soccer, and swam during school.  I still play basketball a lot now and try and get a good run and workout in a few times a week.  I always enjoy going on nude swims and hikes.  Anytime there is water volleyball at the local naturist club's swims I'm the first one in the pool!

I hope to work for a sports team someday as well.
