Wow, ten years already. Time sure flies.
Yes, it was back in 2009 when IYNO first opened its doors to the public. People have come and gone. A few were there since the very beginnning, but many people who joined in during our journey have left a lasting impression on this place. I am grateful for all the time we have spent together, and I believe that ten years of this great community is an event worthy of celebration.
So, we are doing what we typically do when we have something to celebrate. We turn to David Hasselhoff.
I called him up a while ago. Told him we were celebrating the ten-year anniversary of our forum. And what did he say? "You still use forums? I thought everyone was doing Facebook groups by now!"

Of course, nobody at IYNO would dare to question the infinite wisdom of the Hoff. So today, I am proud to announce that International Young Naturists Organization will be moving to Facebook soon. Unfortunately, we are not yet finished setting up the group, but we should be done in a day or two. Be sure to check this site to see where you will need to sign up. Once the Facebook group is ready, the forum will be closed.

This is going to create an issue of conscious for some of us that have avoided FB the same way we have avoided textile beaches.

I have had that concern as well, but the Hoff said otherwise, and I have complete faith in him.

It's a shame that the forum will close soon to pass on FB, I'm not sure it's a good idea! because of censorship on nude photos... an example of censorship of FB a work of Gustave Courbet "The origin of the world"!

I always found Facebook is more social than a forum, but they have a very strict no-nudity policy... How is that going to work?
I have the same concerns. I understand that more people are in to traditional modern social websites, like Facebook, but what about posting nudist and naturist content? Facebook is very strict with that. Wouldn't it be easier to keep this site open for that? Or maybe consider other alternatives like MeWe and their open policy towards naturism and nudism or nude content in general, I don't think is a guarantee that it will last forever. What about our postings here on IYNO? What will happen to them? What about our galleries of both personal pics and other forms of expressions of naturism? what will happen to them? What about people that for professional reasons want to keep their naturism interests or habits undercover? How will this affect them? How about Danee? Is she aware (even though, it's been a long time since she was last active here)? After all, she is and always will be our proud and outstanding ambassador from IYNO.

That is what I'm hoping. Facebook groups are cool and all but not the same as a forum. Why throw away all the history this place has accumulated? I'm deploying my Anti-Hoff.

Moving to FB seems odd because:
1) More and more people are leaving FB these days for a variety of reasons, so if the point is to update then why not use a newer alternative?
2) FB has a surprisingly strict censorship policy which a lot of people here would not appreciate.
3) FB's rules require everyone to use their full legal name whereas forums like this are more open to those concerned about online privacy.
4) FB has terrible security and has been known to accidently make secret groups public before, thus revealing to everyone the real identities of every person in those secret groups.
5) As others have said, a decade of history would be lost by the disappearance of this forum (unless it is archived somewhere).
6) FB doesn't have the same range of features to allow for discussions in separate, easy to locate sections as this forum has (especially in regards to the restricted sections).
7) A forum like this allows for greater adaptation of the platform to suit the group's specific needs than FB's groups do as they are frequently restrictive and often subject to random changes without prior warning.
Would it please be alright to ask how the above matters have been taken into account when considering whether or not to proceed with this change?

Facebook: The worst possible place for anything regarding nudity or privacy or really anything else.
Literally anyplace else would be better.

The Hoff has just messaged me and said
I forgot Facebook doesn't really allow nudity I don't post nudes on there I do that on Twitter. So didn't really think going to Facebook would be such a problem for you all. KiTT is having trouble with converting threads into posts and comments, and where to put photos. Which I know you were all worried but I thought 'She'll Be Right Mate' which something said in your country(NudieDaniel) a lot it seems it wasn't. Since I deleted my account in rage when you pretended Scatman John was your new mascot I forgot about all the different sections that only certain members can see. I'm a mascot for so many places that went to Facebook I thought it just made sense for you guys. But I guess I need to remember you guys are the nude guys and it's a bit different I like going nude too that's why I agreed to be your mascot even if it's only ever around April the 1st you even call me up for something like I'm only meant to be for jokes only. But as I said before I post my nudes on Twitter so I forgot how hard Facebook is on nudity. Maybe that MeWe is a good or that Minds place I keep hearing about until we can get a conversion KiTT working for one those your old school forum can stay.

Well I think Hoff Appreciation Day has gone on long enough getting close to that 48 hour mark it's evening in most of the US and given the nature of this Hoff Appreciation Day it maybe be better to end a little early.
The one thing we didn't joke about was the fact we have been online for 10 years and for the foreseeable future still a forum if we did need to change format for real we'd properly be able to give more notice than just a few days.

For those who are new, Hoff Appreciation Day is bit confusing at first. But for almost as along this forum has existed David Hasselhoff has part of this place's April Fools Day joke he's always in there somehow no matter what change we make to the forum on the 1st of April. This is properly the most extreme joke we pulled possibly related to the fact we put it out the wild quite early that not all of you realised it a joke missing the Hoff references possibly. Properly also a lot real online communities have moved to Facebook didn't help. So we were a little panicked and made the jokey replies to make it a little clearer.
This was always was going to be risky one. But it was surprising the genuine concern some of you had. I guess in future if we do a joke of similar nature we'll make sure you don't miss the hints and get panicked for no reason. But pretending we're closing the forum after 10 years was just too good not to do
In couple years it will be 10 years of Hoff Appreciation Day

Yeah...there is something about Facebook that keeps quite a lot of peeps away from it. Not to mention that Facebook has its own moral policing going on.
One of the reasons I love this forum is for its simplicity. Sure gonna miss that if we move to FB.
