Published a couple of years but still interesting
Beach goers around the world don't get too bothered by public nudity and speedos. But they do break a sweat when it comes to a possible shark attack.
That's according to Expedia's annual Flip Flop report. The study, commissioned by the online travel agency and conducted online by research firm Northstar, gauged the behaviors and preferences of 11,165 adults across 24 countries in five continents.

I visited a nude beach in France once. Everyone seemed very open about it.

@ukmarcus tell us more about your experience, if you like.
About the nationality, I would say french and german people...according to my experience.
-
does the nationality matter or is it more about the place?
when i'm in nude places i see people from different nationalities.
in resorts in france that i've been to the magority were europeans but that could have been du to the location, i'm guessing that in the us there would be more americans.
-
When I was in Europe every nude beach, camp, or resort always had German speakers. Considering the FKK culture especially in the east I would say the Germans
-
3 Nationality
German for the nudity in park
French for nudity in Beach
Northen Europe people for nudity in Sauna

It's a pretty good remark when you look at it closely!

Latin America is probably one of the lower regions in the ranking. Maybe North America too.

Yes, all this part of the world is very conservative, even in the US. So yeah, I think German culture is more open to nudity at the beach, maybe even the French too.

I think the whole Europe is clearly more open to this. We must mention the region of Australia too.

I’ve found the Greeks are pretty chill about nudity too. Skiathos being a particular favourite of mine

That’s interesting, I knew a Greek guy years ago who said they’re less liberal about nudity than we might imagine.
-
Never had an eye batted at me in Greece for being nude and plenty locals on the beach too
-
I think it's most likely France although it wouldn't surprise me if it's Germany or Austria. I have friends living there who talk about how a lot of people are naked there at the beach.

In 2014, the travel portal Expedia conducted a survey on this. According to the survey, Germans were the most uninhibited beachgoers, followed by the Austrians.
