Well it's the start of the new cycling season and the pros are at in Australia. Are you a cyclist and how often do you ride?
I ride a scott road bike and log anywhere from 15-60+ miles a day. I also commute on a SE draft fixie.

I have a bicycle and I use it frequently in the summer, but I wouldn't call myself a cyclist. Mostly I use it on woods roads where I can give my bare bum a ride at the expense of my legs.

Hmm.. a lot of people from HK ride bicycles. How come you can't? Does your town have very narrow roads that it is hard to ride bicycles?

Ha you don't have to ride in town. When I ride 50 miles....I'm not riding through town...I ride on country roads.

I commute daily by bike. My current commuter is a Nashbar "Nekked" single speed. Yes that is the official name on this model.
-
Nashbar?...never heard of them but I did look them up. Didn't see the bike you have but could have missed it - unless they changed the name. Get it at a local shop?

Single speed? isn't it hard to ride a bike specially on an inclined road?

It does take a moderate effort to climb hills but as a commuter I wanted a very simple design without the complexities of so many gears. A single speed has a wider, more durable chain that lasts longer. I had been commuting on a heavy mountain frame with 24 speed for a few years but recently I had only been using two or three of those gears. I plan to convert "Nekkid" to a fixie sometime soon. Then I won't even need brakes.

Nashbar Nekkid (http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product_10053_10052_554956_-1___202614) Mail order. I just swapped out the handle bars for some trials horns.

Oh alright, yeah its a very simple design, if you want to convert to a fixie then you must get some deep V wheels

im a road cyclist and mountain biker but i prefer mountain biking, think its so much more fun than riding on the road.
i do try ride every week but sometimes i just dont have the time, today i did a nice 40km cycle on the road and the weekend that has just past i took part in a 100km mountain bike race which was very tough as it was just massive hill after hills - managed to finish in 6h30.
i enjoy being on the bike and keeping fit.

when choosing a bike. what frame do you preferable use? Also, I think the tyres used for road and mountain biking are different right? Did you use the same bike and just disassemble? or 2 different bike?
-
Hello Closetnaturist
I have a mountain bilke and a road bicycle, the racers(road bicycle) tyres are very small tyres which you can't use off road but if you have a mountain bike you can just change the tyres, you get nobbly tyres for off road and slicks to use on tar roads.
I prefer my mountain bike which I use off and on roads but I don't change my tyres, I just keep my nobbly tyres on all the time.
I suppose it depends what the person prefers to use but you do get different size bicycle frames, if you go to a bicycle shop they will advise you on what frame best suits your body frame, I'm a small build so I use a small frame bicycle.
Hope it helps you out.

I commute to and from Campus by bike, and do all my shopping on bike as well. I am using a 1987 Trek 330 road bike as my commuter bike. I ride in all seasons, whenever the weather is not too terrible to ride in.
