What do you think of this lady's comments?

I think it is incredibly offensive to people who actually suffer from PTSD and object to the whole oppression olympics culture SJWs engage in.

Sure, people can get single-minded about trigger warnings and take them to a point where it's ridiculous, but that's true of pretty much anything.  I would prefer calling them content warnings, just because a trigger warning almost seems to suggest that people should be triggered by it, but otherwise I think it's valid.

She says that the onus should be on the viewer to avoid content that they don't want to see.  Absolutely!  Content warnings are how people do that.  It's not reasonable to avoid the Internet entirely, and it's not reasonable to just avoid certain sites because many websites these days cover such a broad range of topics.  Trigger warnings aren't about restricting speech because you still get to say whatever you wanted to say after the warning.

If I were to create content that dealt with issues that people might not want to see (either because of trigger issues or NSFW issues), and that's not clear from the title, I would probably put a content warning at the beginning.  It would just be a little courtesy that wouldn't take much effort.  If I didn't put such a warning in, and someone accidentally sees something they don't want to see, then to avoid that in the future they would probably stop viewing any of my content, and now I permanently lost a viewer.

I've never seen "trigger warnings" outside of anything ridiculous.

Not everyone copes with certain things in the same way. Some bad shit can happen to people and it can mess them up for a long ass time. It's kinda good to get a warning if you're not at a proper mental state to deal with topics revolving around that which would trigger you. It's just not being a fucking dick, is all.

I like her, she's smart and funny. I just subscribed.

Shame this probably won't stay on youtube too long, unless the mods say 'hang on, there's nothing happening here.'

Can't happen because common sense doesn't scale. How much do you it would cost spending 10 minutes watching it before deciding if it is acceptable or not with every single reported video? It would be very unprofitable indeed.

So algorithms based on reports will do the job.

There's PLENTY of nudity on youtube...both sexual and non. There really isn't much to worry about unless people decide it's "WRATH TIME".

so many people still need to realize this. you can't just discount someone's lived experience (which may be seriously traumatic) by centering yourself and all your ignorant privilege

While I agree content warning for certain subjects is definitely a good idea, I do think that some things are getting taken too far these days. Hopefully soon we can decide where to draw the line

Made it halfway through the video before I got tired of it. This was honestly the worst take I've ever heard all month.

Trigger warnings have existed everywhere for quit some time. Even on the daily news they'll advise you before they show something grave. Movies and TV shows have content warnings that show things like mature language, violence, drug use etc.

You can't disregard the feelings and mental wellbeing of others simply because nothing traumatic has happened to you. Humans are sympathetic. We're creatures that need community. To me, having thoughts like this lady shows signs of true narcissism and sociopathy.

Video no longer exists so I have to imagine the woman is and her takes are regressive and unfunny. It's always... amusing how offended people get my trigger/content warnings. As long as I can remember people have said things like "this movie is really violent, so if you're not into that" or something akin to it. It's not new.

To be fair, that video is old as hell, she's not the same woman she was when she recorded that, and she VERY RECENTLY deleted all of her topless topics content for many many reasons.

People change. She should get the benefit of the doubt.  :confused

In my honest opinion, I think YouTube and other social media are singling her out.  There are several other nudist women on YouTube who are promoting our lifestyle using uncensored nudity and they have no problems at all such as Jessa "The Nude Blogger" O'Brien.

It seems to me the more you go against the grain of social conventions, especially if you are a social minority the easier a target you are for the SM mafia to target you as a threat.

Dude, Cleo is my homie, but she painted a target on her back years ago when she was posting the topless shit without the age restriction status, INTENTIONALLY, because she felt the non sexual nudity didn't require such a label. Entertaining the many many many trolls with constant responses and videos didn't help either. You're right, she got singled out. She's been singled out for years and we've been telling her that, but she doesn't really seem to care. Ending topless topics was supposed to be a time of rest for her, but she's still in the mess despite that. While she is a victim of some kind of injustice, a whole lot of stress is her own fucking fault, and no matter what move she makes, that stress follows. Something HAS to give.

I don't know, doing what she felt was right and choosing to respond to criticism in her own way shouldn't necessarily be turned around on her or absolve her from being victimized. Of course, I don't know much more than what's been posted here about this but just my $.02.
