Title: Exposed (Laura Pannack photography) Guardian Weekend 30/10/10
Post by: Steggsaurus on October 30, 2010, 11:26:19 am
See this topic for an explanation of this article and my involvement with it:
http://internationalyn.org/forum/index.php/topic,5906.0.html (http://internationalyn.org/forum/index.php/topic,5906.0.html)

All the photos have been taken by Laura Pannack (www.laurapannack.com (http://www.laurapannack.com/)).  She was usually also nude while taking the photos, as the article says.

Some of the names have been changed: I am unsure whether this was a request by the models, by Laura, or an editorial decision by the paper.

I think it's a reasonably good article although I'd take issue with a couple of things:
- Youth naturism in Britain isn't a "secret" world.  It is open to anyone who wishes to take part, as long as they are willing to take off their clothes.  Most people don't want to do that.  But it is there if they want to.
- I have never met anyone through YBN or other club visits under 30 who plays petanque or even knows the rules.  We play a lot of pool, and volleyball.

Overall though it is positive, truthful (at least to my experiences) and will hopefully encourage other young people in Britain to consider trying naturism.

And, of course, all the photography is excellent!

Andy, I am really, really impressed!  By Laura, by the articles and presentation and most of all, by YOU!

I think this article presents the cause and a super positive light on British Naturism, and more important, Young British Naturism.

Thank-you so very much for contributing this.  I am going to 'sticky-it' as it's that good!  Get any of these fine people to join us, and they will be welcomed with open arms.  (and the keys to some needed moderator positions!)

well done Andy. It's the simplicity of the pics that says it all, there's nothing to it!  :432

Is the cool color temperature and muted colors an artistic decision by the photographer, or is it just an artifact of the scanning?

I would love to try something like this - certainly have pics done anyway... not sure i'm comfortable enough with everyone knowing to have them in a newspaper quite yet!

Maybe people recognised you but were afraid to ask you about it (http://im-smiley.com/imgs/smiling/smiling003.gif) (http://im-smiley.com)
Do you know if Laura Pannack received any positive comments? (http://im-smiley.com/imgs/smiling/smiling005.gif) (http://im-smiley.com)

I haven't heard from Laura recently, as she has been busy with 2 or 3 other projects (none of which are naturist-related) and travelling the world.  She got a few good words from people on Facebook when it was published.

The "Weekend" magazine is the colour supplement of the Guardian newspaper.  It's published every Saturday.

Well, when you see or hear from her again give her my compliments (http://im-smiley.com/imgs/smiling/smiling005.gif) (http://im-smiley.com)
And if she ever wants to make a project about Belgian Naturists tell her you know at least one person who is interested (http://im-smiley.com/imgs/smiling/smiling005.gif) (http://im-smiley.com)
