It has been a while since we did a song challenge. I have compiled a list of 50 questions to create the ultimate song challenge. It is not completely original, most have been taken from other 30 day song challenges that are scattered around the internet. I have tried to use questions we haven't had in the previous song challenges here. I also tried to give it a little structure so you will see that some days you will be answering questions that go along the same lines as the previous day so that it isn't just completely random and muddled. Anyway, I hope you have fun :cheesy:

The first album I ever bought was Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park.
Linkin Park - In The End (Official Music Video) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yw1Tgj9-VU#ws)
-
I have no clue which is the first one I bought but this is from the first one I ever owned.
Michael Jackson - Beat It (Digitally Restored Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRdxUFDoQe0#)
-
I already missed day 1 due to being out all day. So, day 2: Title track.
Is this the opener track or a track named the same as the album it is on. Either way, same album for me, Kamelot's The Black Halo.
Here is the opener, March of Mephisto:
[noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0yYxOV-bRU[/noembed]
And here is the eponym, The Black Halo:
KAMELOT - The Black Halo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDAw1Vu2-YM#ws)
-
I can't think of many bands that I listen to that have album title tracks. Having scrolled through my music the best I could find is Mutiny! by Set Your Goals. Set Your Goals - Mutiny! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw7Pf0HscwI#)
-
I can't think of many bands that I listen to that have album title tracks. Having scrolled through my music the best I could find is Mutiny! by Set Your Goals.

A Band I've seen live:
Canadian Band Kate Fenner & Chris Brown never made it big for some reason.

GACKT -- STAY THE RIDE ALIVE [2010.01.01] (2009.12.11) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ql1B6daZEk#ws)
-
Day 5:
Bricklin - Walk Away(From Bill&Ted's Excellent Adventure) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzeAkQQxbEo#)
Be excellent to each other and party on, dudes.
-
Day 5: Movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7dZ4cfCEBE# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7dZ4cfCEBE#)
A bit obvious but I didn't have the brain power to dig any deeper.
-
Day 6: Video game
Narrowing it down to a favorite is hard. There are hundreds of awesome video game songs, dozens of which I am personally aware... Finding a single great one is hard, since they all are great in so many different ways. Since I was discussing Pokémon Black and White yesterday, I will choose the most earwormy song that comes to my mind, which is from those games: Alder's theme.
Pokemon B/W OST: Alder's theme EXTENDED (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTu7VCRXvBI#ws)
-
I've opted for an actual song. This game had its problems, sure, but this song kicks ass.
Day 6:
What I'm Made Of by Crush 40 - Last Boss Ver. 2: Metal Overlord (from Sonic Heroes) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnOtW_yMmzo#)
"Long time no see, Sonic... "
-
I got here just in time. Another hour and I would have missed it.
Day 6:
GTA San Andreas Radio X - Living Colour - Cult of Personality (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RGJfPR5Ecw#)
As it is also CM Punk's entrance music (wwe) the song will also feature on the latest WWE games too.
-
Day 7: Friend
Most random thing ever - but those parodies always had the craziest ideas, and that is what I know the person in question best for:
Mentos The Freshmaker Full Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4y7RUQDBvw#)
-
Day 6:
No way you can beat zelda
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Qp-ypYp6rQ)
-
Day 07 – A song that reminds you of your best friend (or just a friend)
This is hard, I cant even pick a friend never mind a song.
(...10 minutes later) OK I have chosen this because me and my best friend over exaggerate every bit of this song when we sing it together.
blink-182 - Stay Together For The Kids (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1BFHYtZlAU#)
-
Reminds me of a friend:
My best friend is a die-hard Bon Jovi fan.
Bon Jovi - Stick To your Guns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcYtSsQ39ho#)
-
Day 7:
Reminds me of a year 12 girl when I was just in year 9, this song played so many times when I hanged out with her for some reason, oh memories
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDrMDlNP9tQ)
-
Day 7:
Reminds me of a year 12 girl when I was just in year 9, this song played so many times when I hanged out with her for some reason, oh memories
Excellent!
-
Day 7:
System Of A Down - Violent Pornography #07 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrHFknW-i64#)
This is one of her favourite System songs.
-
Day 8: Funny
Most of the ones I know have either decreased in intensity lately or are too politically charged for posting them here, so this will have to do:
The Lifeform Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rZWaPve49A#)
-
Day 8
Its a difficult one as most of the songs that I find funny are offensive but I hope this one is taken in good humor.
Talk To Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1QAsPLNDVc#)
-
Day 8:
Pandas must die (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw6T7MpwMSo#)
-
Day 8: lmfaoooooooooooo
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJVt8kUAm9Q)
-
Day 9: Last good
Well, chronological order is difficult since a bunch of songs, some variations of each other, came with the same show, but my vote goes to
Nakamura Yuichi and Deneb: Action-ZERO
[noembed]Action ZERO live (Nakamura Yuichi as Sakurai Yuuto) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b4-zw-9QEw#)[/noembed]
-
Day 8: Makes me laugh
Grandmaster Flash - The message (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6e9G-ump3Y#)
Part of Rap's genesis. Sounds rediculous now.
-
Day 9: Best new song.
Define new... new to me?
Lately this electroswing stuff has been growing on me but I also like this one:
Blondfire - Waves [Official Music Video] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNpqsJM-JLw#ws)
-
Day 9: Best new song.
Define new... new to me?
I think it means chronologically.
-
Day 9:
Best new, eh?
Well this is 2013 vid. My kids loved this song, well not my person, biological kids, which I don't have either. The kids that I counsiled at a camp. They made a Jesus version of it, lol
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvTqknDobU)
-
Day 09 – The last new song that you heard that you really liked
I dont really listen to new music much but I do really like Mumford and Sons.
Mumford & Sons 'I Will Wait' | BRITs 2013 I OFFICIAL HD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVu6eJkTy7E#ws)
-
Oh - new as in recently released, rather than recently discovered?
If so:
Day 9: New
Jam Project - Trigger of Crisis
http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/yDa6XDIoVMo/ (http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/yDa6XDIoVMo/)

Yes, sorry I should have explained that in the original lost, or just worded it better.
-
Right... so apparently Waves by Blondfire came out in August of 2012 - OOOPS ;)
That's a tough category because I don't really watch MTV (actually Much Music) anymore so I have no idea what's new and what's just new to me. Shows you how far behind the times I am on some things.
:345678
-
Day 01 – "The In Crowd" by Mitchel Musso (don't jugde me, I was in the 5th Grade)
Day 02 – "A Kind of Magic" by Queen
Day 03 – "Meteor Shower" by Owl City
Day 04 – "Cue The Pulse to Begin" by Burnside Project
Day 05 – "Festival" by Sigur Ros (In the movie "127 Hours")
Day 06 – Oh, I don't know, I don't really play video games.
Day 07 – "Because" by The Beatles
Day 08 – "Blood" by My Chemical Romance
Day 09 – It has to be either "The Five of Us Are Dying" by My Chemical Romance, or "Let Me Sleep Tonight" by Farewell Milwaukee
Thanks for joining the game Jaime!
If you like you can post vids by simply entering the URL of the vid from a popular site like Youtube and the forum software will do the rest. Just one vid per day though to give others a chance as only a certain number can be loaded per forum page.
Cheers!

It is the last new song that you liked. I don't think that necessarily means it has to be in the charts now. I nearly posted Titanium by David Guetta and I think that is about 2 years old.
Goes to show how rubbish today's music is :4245
-
Day 9:
Brave [Soundtrack] - Touch The Sky - (Julie Fowlis) [HD] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAD_E1kaYuY#ws)
-
Day 9....
ah eurovision
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k59E7T0H-Us)
-
Day 10: Relaxation:
A modern classic: Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song (in the forest)
Blind Guardian - The Bard Song (In The Forest) Live @ Wacken (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaQnW6JeAJE#ws)
-
Day 10: Enigma - Sadeness [HQ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfRAiTtOVEY#ws)
-
Day 11: last discovered
Actually, I knew the song as a movie ending already, but it did not fit that position well. But listening to it as a song in its own right, it is actually a good song, and now that I have discovered and read up on the person behind it, it fits the "artist last discovered" part as well.
Demon Kakka - Forest of Rocks
Demon KAKKA - Forest of Rocks LIVE (Kamen Rider x Super Sentai Talk & Show 2013) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH1_pmQ_ZQ0#ws)
-
reminds me of my choir days, oh well... still, relaxing, patriotic, and just great to listen to
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbGuqmaDgLA)
-
Day 11:
Blackmore's Night - Village Lanterne (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvJwEu9ghvM#)
-
Disappointed to have missed a couple of days but hopefully I wont miss anymore
Day 12:
Mr Shiraz - Built In Sin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUX8VsTDOF0#ws)
A band that my band is pretty close too. We have played in the lead singers bar a few times and we hope to tour together at some point.
-
Day 12:
The Black Mages - Otherworld (FFX) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90nyB9dKjG8#)
The vast majority of The Black Mages' songs are instrumentals, so here's one with vocals.
-
That is Uematsu's band, right?
Day 12: Unknown
Dada Dumdums - Faust
Dada Dumdums Faust (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-JQbfYwsEE#)
Basically, a musical rendition of a scene from Goethe's most famous drama.
-
That is Uematsu's band, right?
Indeed it is.
So much for a band no one's heard of...
-
Day 12:
S.Mouse, ah only few aussies would prob get this one
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y237ig3MSF4)
-
Day 12:
S.Mouse, ah only few aussies would prob get this one
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y237ig3MSF4)
I forgot about S.Mouse. Angry Boys got pretty popular here too.
-
Day 13: A song from the last album I bought.
Wreck It, Wreck-It Ralph- Buckner & Garcia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HthczxPTRM#ws)
-
Day 13: Song from last bought album
Hell-if-I-know. I usually just listen to Alt Nation on XM.
Just looking around though - very possibly this one:
Avril Lavigne - Official 'Alice (Underground)' Music Video (HQ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyDRbx8nWFg#ws)
Enigma - Sadeness [HQ]
Oldie but a Goodie. :e4444
-
Day 13: Song from last bought album
From Rise Against's Long Forgotten songs
Rise Against - Give It All (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhldbymXK-8#ws)
-
Of course I missed the "last song gotten" part. So anyway, kicking off Day 14: Videosity
I take it opening themes with the opening video do not count and it is all about official MVs. That would narrow it down quite a bit.
I will probably just go with The Next Decade by Gackt before I end up posting Gangnam Style:
The Next Decade PV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkFIETQWzXU#ws)
-
I will probably just go with The Next Decade by Gackt before I end up posting Gangnam Style:
Thanks for that.
-
Day 14 – A song with a great video
Bowling For Soup - 1985 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K38xNqZvBJI#)
-
Day 14 – A song with a great video
Lily Allen - LDN (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmYT79tPvLg#ws)
-
Day 15: Love-Hate:
Fler: Willkommen in Berlin
FLER - WILLKOMMEN IN BERLIN FEAT. MEGALOH - NEUE DEUTSCHE WELLE PE - ALBUM - TRACK 14 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlAedC4eJVM#ws)
I liked the music. I still do a bit. But the attitude resonates a lot better with 14-year-old me than with 22-year-old me.
-
Day 15 - A song you used to love but now hate
Sorry guys but I couldn't think of anything else....
Gangnam Style Official Music Video - 2012 PSY with Oppan Lyrics & MP3 Download (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIQToVqDMb8#ws)
-
Day 15:
Motorhead - Ace Of Spades + Lyrics (HQ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcf7DnHi54g#)
I'm going to be crucified for this one, but I've heard it too many times.
-
Day 16 – A song you used to hate but now love
My friend used to play this all the time and I found it so depressing but compared to the rest of the songs on that album it isn't so bad and I kind of like the attitude. It grew on me after hearing a dozen times.
Alkaline Trio - Radio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2qerZ8KOrU#)
-
Day 16: Learning to love
I have many songs that turned out quite amazing despite leaving a non-favorable first impression. For instance
Rhapsody of Fire - The March of the Swordmaster:
Rhapsody of fire the march of the swordmaster (live) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4qhEiSIc3k#)
-
Day 17: Favourite Cover
This is a cover of Boats and Birds by Gregory and the hawk. Me and an Ex at the time stumbled across this when looking at anime videos and couldnt help but fall in love. I think she has a brilliant voice and I love watching random people cover songs like this.
Boats and Birds cover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6Ha8oeQIFk#)
-
Day 17 - Favorite Cover
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXmt2h80AT8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXmt2h80AT8#)
-
Day 17:
Foo Fighters - Band On The Run (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nDGwp7MChU#)
-
Day 17: Favourite cover
I love hearing music reinterpreted - sometimes the covers are much better than the original. I especially like hearing power ballads done acoustically by women (not sure why) examples: Dawn Christie - Eve of Destruction and Sheryl Crow - Sweet Child of Mine.
Anyway try this:
Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs - Cinnamon Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoZEkk2VI_Y#)
You can never get to much of 'the Hoffs' (Susanna that is) Teeheehee
-
Day 18 – Your favorite parody
A lot to choose from again but Im gonna go with LittleKuriboh's parody of Hero by Enrique Englesias
Villain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF8-FF_V8wQ#)
-
After not being able to decide on a cover, I could at least pick a good parody, which I found by looking at my favorite Gangnam Style parodies:
PSY - GENTLEMAN PARODY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N49hOi4jF7o#ws)
-
Day 18:
I'll see your LittleKuriboh and raise you one Team Four Star.
TFS Parody: Make A Man Out Of You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V06DISKajss#ws)
-
Day 18: Parody
Apparently Weird Al is still at it
Perform This Way (Parody of "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_BmTGv43M#ws)
-
Day 19 – A song you think has too many covers
When Follow Through (my band) was formed, one of the very first things that we agreed on was to never cover this song because so many other bands, especially punk, had covered it before. Here is an example
MXPX - Summer of 69 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNQ3rZBEPLU#)
-
Day 19: Covers
I am someone who enjoys compositions and arrangements, so I cannot get enough of novel covers (like a capella, different genre, radically different instrumentation and stuff like that), but to just play the same song with different performers... I do not see the point of publishing that.
The first song that came to my mind when I thought of an abundance of covers: Metallica - Master of Puppets:
Metallica-Master Of Puppets (Lyrics) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnKhsTXoKCI#)
Too many parodies would have been easier: Don McLean's American Pie, as explained by Hank Green here: [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdK-arqJD1g[/noembed]
-
Day 20 – Favorite song from the 70′s
Was tempted to post some Ramones but I will go with this instead, from 1973.
The Joker - Steve Miller Band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmVusVh4TRQ#)
-
Day 20 – Favorite song from the 70′s
Blondie - Heart of Glass 1979 Video TopPop stereo widescreen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jxpe1oSp_sg#ws)
-
Day 20: '70s
This is an '80s performance and I think of Queen as an '80s band, but the song was still written and first performed in the '70s:
Queen - We Are The Champions (which I have memorized since late 2006 due to Nintendo's RVL-001)
Queen - We Are The Champions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSTivVclQQ0#ws)
-
Day 20:
AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8fZeaUHsjw#)
Shame I can't find the version from If You Want Blood....
-
Day 21 – Favorite song from the 80′s
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuuObGsB0No#)
-
Day 21 – Favorite song from the 80′s
Impossible. The 70s was difficult enough but most of my favourite songs are from the 80s.
Time for some Bangles?
Just imagine she's singing to you ;)
The Bangles - In Your Room (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04HSg0YZi9E#)
-
Day 21:
Labyrinth 05 - Chilly down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3DVdwAFzKc#)
"Hey, I know what we should do! Take off her head!"
-
Missed day 21 - '80s (would have been my all-time favorite, The Final Countdown by Europe - [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DuoPBKl2go[/noembed])
Day 22 - '90s
Ron Wasserman - Go Go Power Rangers
Power Rangers FULL THEME (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-van93HkAag#)
-
Day 22 - Favorite song from the 90s
This is the most difficult one for me. I love 90's music and I loved so many genres back then too.
After much deliberation I am going with....
Green Day - Basket Case [Official Music Video] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUTGr5t3MoY#)
-
Day 22 - Favorite song from the 90s
This is the most difficult one for me. I love 90's music and I loved so many genres back then too.
After much deliberation I am going with....
Likewise
Nirvana - Heart-Shaped Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6P0SitRwy8#)
-
Day 22:
Cappella - U And Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzvaIoIr2uQ#)
Difficult era to pick from, since it was the one I grew up in. Changed my selection since I don't think I heard it IN the 90s...
-
Day 23 – Favorite song from the 00's
Rise Against - Prayer Of The Refugee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-SQGOYOjxs#ws)
-
Day 22: '00s
Too many to choose from, considering I am still discovering new '00s stuff. But I will just take the song that got me into Power Metal, Rhapsody's Dawn of Victory (2000)
Rhapsody (of Fire) - Dawn of Victory (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L_iOnLNt9M#)
-
I know it's a cover, but this version is much better than the original.
Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_4abCWw-w#)
-
Day 22: '00s
Too many to choose from, considering I am still discovering new '00s stuff. But I will just take the song that got me into Power Metal, Rhapsody's Dawn of Victory (2000)
Rhapsody (of Fire) - Dawn of Victory (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L_iOnLNt9M#)
I :e4444 German power metal especially B Guardian and helloween !
-
Day 24 – Your favorite acoustic version of a song
Mike Herrera and Kris Roe acoustic - "Olympia, WA" (Rancid cover) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Do9kzQuJQw#ws)
-
Day 24 – Your favorite acoustic version of a song
Eve of Destruction by Dawn Christie
I can't find a video for it but it was originally filmed in a CBC studio sometime in the 60s (I believe).
-
Day 24 - Acoustic:
Blind Guardian: Mordred's Song
Blind Guardian - Mordred's Song (Acoustic) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miZWK43gtdg#)
-
Day 25 – A song you can remember your parents listening to.
My dad didn't listen to much music. He had a couple of favorite songs but other than that I don't think he was into music. My mum however listened to quite a lot of 80's music. She loved reggae too, and was a huge a UB40 fan.
UB40 - Kingston Town (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBfSu4nGDfk#)
-
Day 25: Parents
My father likes country music. And although he mainly listens to broadcast radio, he has this song in the car in case he needs it:
Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee
Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW5UEW2kYvc#)
-
Day 25: Parents
My mom likes the Beatles, Elvis and this one:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=McvWodRXA7k&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DMcvWodRXA7k (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McvWodRXA7k#)
Also this is a pain in the butt to do over the phone and I can't tell whether it's loading properly or not.
Here's hopin'
-
Wow, half-way through.
Day 26: Novelty
Trying to distinguish genuine novelty fromjust another humorous piece of music.
The Firm - Star Trekkin'
Star Trekkin' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vPWE2Ebz48#)
-
Day 26: Favorite novelty song
Crazy Frog - We Are The Champions (Ding a Dang Dong) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_IAqwrvEuU#ws)
-
Day 26- Novelty
Okay so this isn't usually in the novelty category and its hard to imagine that Gunther is a 'serious' 'pop act' but this song is hilarious. omg.
Gunther - Ding Dong Song Gunther Video (You Touch My Tralala) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z13qnzUQwuI#)
Chris sings it all the time. not even kidding
:blank:
-
Day 27: Attraction
Being attracted to someone you only know through music videos is kinda not my style, so I will slightly downgrade this to "find attractive".
Aya Kamiki - W-B-X
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBp2i4HL6WI#t=40 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBp2i4HL6WI#t=40)
(song starts 40 seconds into the video)
-
Day 26: Novelty
Thought this was pretty novel - kinduva techno-charleston sorta thing
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ5KCJbiyVs&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DoQ5KCJbiyVs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ5KCJbiyVs#ws)
-
Day 27 – A song from an artist you are attracted to.
Emma Anzai :765 :098
Emma Anzai - Sick Puppies - Howards Tale (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxitzEnFfQk#)
-
Day 27: Attracted
Where to even start? Aside from Suzanna Hoffs (whom I'd be after like white on rice) how about this Chica?
Emma Shapplin - Spente Le Stelle [SPA] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkPHMqalWls#)
-
Day 28 – A song that sums up this year for you
I hate this song, but it sums up this year
Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFZP8zQ5kzk#ws)
-
Day 28 - Year
Not because of any particular exams, but because I did way more coursework than usual this year, and I was rather successful at it.
Pokémon - You Can Do It
Pokemon - You Can Do It (If You Really Try) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT1p9lo9QUw#)
-
Day 28:
What am I doing with my life...?
Warm Bodies OST 1 - Music for Airport Zombies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnSgosM8A4o#)
-
Day 28:
What am I doing with my life...?
Warm Bodies OST 1 - Music for Airport Zombies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnSgosM8A4o#)
:345678 Good choice!
Day 29:
Im gonna go with some good old Green Day.
Longview - Green Day (Official Music Video) Uncensored [HQ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWvKSPQ9p5Q#)
If you have heard this song you have probably figured out that is it about masturbation. But other than the couple of lines in the chorus that give it that theme, the song pretty much sums up most of my days.
-
Day 29: Life
Blind Guardian - The Soulforged
Blind Guardian - The Soulforged (Studio Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RmcmwD-rOM#ws)
-
Day 29:
Self - Stay Home [SHREK SOUNDTRACK] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hY3TujkezY#)
-
Day 30 – Find your latest song post. Now find another song by the same artist
Other than Basket Case and Longview, both of which I have posted already, this is my next favorite Green Day song
Green Day - When I Come Around [Official Music Video] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8dh9gDzmz8#)
-
Day 30: Last Band
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side
Blind Guardian - Live @ Wacken 2011 - Imaginations From The Other Side (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUkhPTdBIZA#)
-
Day 30: Last artist - different song
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xOnlUutIwLI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOnlUutIwLI#)
All I've had for the last couple weeks is my phone and it looks like my vids aren't embedding properly. Can one of you guys have a look and fix them up if necessary?
-
Fixed it. The mobile youtube site is not recognized, you need to replace m.youtube.com with www.youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com)

Thanks muchly. I've been running into other issues with this mobile thing. The cbc website won't load properly and the mobile version is impossible to navigate - you only end up being able to see half the news and for some reason if you type the desktop URL in you end up at the mobile page anyway. Super annoying.

I had similar problems with my last phone.
-
Day 31: Sold Out
09 - U2 - Numb (ZOO TV - Sydney 1993) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHEGc27X4bM#ws)
Not up to scratch for the band that brought us Sunday, Bloody Sunday but they have since recovered.
-
Day 32 – A song that was a number one from any of your birthdays.
Wow I never realised how much music sucks on my birthday :34 The only ok song that has been number one on my birthday is
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2B6SjMh_w#)
-
This is the only song I like that was number one on one of my birthdays:
R. Kelly - Ignition (Remix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6y_4_b6RS8#ws)
Tune.
-
After two days about things I do not really care about (commercialization and charts) again something I can post an example about:
Day 32: Ad
My first choice was Mentos, but I had posted that already. So something else.
You know the old MacBook Air ad with the envelope?
There were tons of parodies for that, which really made it stick.
MacBook Air Parody (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAyBaNwDX8c#)
-

MacBook Air Parody (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAyBaNwDX8c#)
Haha, that's awesome.
I'm going with this from a John Lewis advert a couple of years ago.
Fyfe Dangerfield - She's Always A Woman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yATtdheYPzg#ws)
-
Day 33:
Shiny Toy Guns - Major Tom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyFe5m2MU9Q#ws)
-
Day 34 – A song you think everyone has forgotten.
Hampton the Hamster "The Hamsterdance Song" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3G5IXn0K7A#)
-
I thought of that song just a few days ago :P
Day 34: Forgotten
Not a song I particularly like in non-parody form, but one that was popular when it came out.
Las Ketchup - Asereje
Las ketchup - Asereje - Vidéo Officiel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tsvUHUaObU#)
-
Day 34: Forgotten
Shakespeare's Sister-Stay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eXw47qb4U0#)
-
Dude... I've been trying to forget that one.... (Las Ketchup - Asereje) ;)
-
Day 35 – Favorite summertime song.
There are many covers of this (including my own band) but I'm just gonna post the original as there are so many to choose from.
Surfaris - Wipe Out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p13yZAjhU0M#)
-
Day 35 - Summer
August 1: It's Too Hot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDEm5qPYTq4#)
Well, most people here would go a step further in terms of getting rid of hot clothes.
And a single hot summer is not exactly evidence for climate change (and neither is a cold winter evidence against it), but I suppose an eco-blogger had to throw that in.
-
Day 35 - Summer
Thought of Summer of '69 as well as some Sheryl Crow vibes - even looked at LFO and Len.
Settled on this:
Kim Mitchell - Patio Lanterns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbSuEQXX2C0#)
-
Day 36 – Favorite Christmas number one ever.
I wanted to go for something a little more Christmasy but looking through the list of Christmas number ones, there aren't actually that many that are about Christmas. So instead I am going with my original thought
Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWXazVhlyxQ#)
-
I really like this one, even more than the original.
Mad World - Gary Jules (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N3N1MlvVc4#)
It also reminds of the great time before X Factor arrived. Good times. Happier times.
-
Day 36 – Favorite Christmas number one ever
Not rightly sure how to interpret the question. It would be cool if there was an entry for favourite Christmas Song.
Also searching for number ones on a specific date going back to 'ever' is way too much of a pain (where's Casey Kasem when you need him) so I ran one search and came up with this one from 1997.
Chumbawamba - Tubthumping (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H5uWRjFsGc#ws)
-
Day 37: Best of last 10
OK - this one's a bit lame -
maybe make it something like best song posted by someone else or best posted song you hadn't heard before.
Anyway: Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name
And since the vid has already been posted I'm going to take this opportunity to add something that should be on the list: Best Christmas Song
Waitresses Christmas Wrapping FULL VERSION + Lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARq6uYSsUq0#)
-
Day 37: Best of last 10
OK - this one's a bit lame -

Anyway: Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name
Seconded.
"The Machine is Raging. What are you Killing in the Name of? I mean, if nobody killed, wouldn't we have a population crisis? I love post-modernism. I don't really know what it is, but I love it." - Sage, Radio X
-
Day 37: Best of last 10
OK - this one's a bit lame -
maybe make it something like best song posted by someone else or best posted song you hadn't heard before.
It was just encourage the poster to listen to other stuff, without having to flick through all of the other pages. I guess best song posted by someone else could work if you already have an idea of what that it is.
Anyway, out the last ten, my favorite (other than the songs I posted) would be Mad World.
-
Did you make that one up? I didn't mean to insult you.
In my case 4 of the last 10 were my own.
Another option would be to place it more strategically... I dunno where just yet.

The song or the question?
The question was one that I found on another song challenge but I thought it would encourage us to listen to the songs other people had posted. At the time of putting the challenge together I was expecting more people to take part, so there would have been more to choose from. Don't worry I'm not insulted. I appreciate the feedback.
-
Day 37: Song and Dance
Chicken Dance Music.mpg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xmV5uHWNag#ws)
-
At the time of putting the challenge together I was expecting more people to take part,
Yeah - pretty quiet compared to the last one.
-
Day 38: Dance
Since Gangnam Style has already been posted, this is what came to my mind first:
ヒーローショー キョウリュウジャー ダンス♪ Hero show KYOURYUJA Dance ♪ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5lE3YKmm0o#ws)
Unfortunately, I could not find the original ED video quickly.
-
Day 39: Namesake
Inxs - Devil inside (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc5QCJB3fOc#)
-
Day 39 – A song by an artist that has a same name as you.
Chris Martin - Viva la Vida live at the Sandy Relief Concert 12 12 12 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVMvStjG1K0#ws)
-

Arthur Brown - Fire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOErZuzZpS8#)
-
slade - merry christmas everybody (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A8KT365wlA#)

Alice Deejay vs Dr. Dre & Eminem - Better Off Alone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yhih0zSG-w4#)
-
Day 41 - Favorite Mash-Up
Jay-Z & Linkin Park - Numb/Encore dirty version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylAUPACSfGY#)

Day 42: Short
Pokémon X #12 - This Dream (Season Theme) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUAsFL9QwC0#)
Pokémon Advanced Challenge - This Dream (there is an extended version, but it is a fan cover, the longest official version is under a minute).
-
Day 42: Short
Janis Joplin - Mercedes Benz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-GFqhCq2HA#)
-
Damn I missed the short song. I would have gone for Never Wake Up by Sum 41
Day 43 – Find a music channel or radio station, this is the song currently playing
Good Riddance - Shadows of Defeat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjNCBSV2gek#)
-
Day 44 – A song from a favourite artists first album
From Blink 182's first album Cheshire Cat. I love the intro to this song
Blink 182 - Carousel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO4YoCZ8Vw8#)
-
Day 44 – A song from a favourite artists first album
Alanis Morissette - Too Hot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar7afdfBHj4#)

Not sure what happened - forgot to post?
Day 47 – The oldest song you own
I downloaded this (kinda like 'owning' eh):
http://newscenter.lbl.gov/wp-content/uploads/MaryHadALittleLamb.mov (http://newscenter.lbl.gov/wp-content/uploads/MaryHadALittleLamb.mov)
Mary Had a Lttle Lamb by Alexander Graham Bell 1885 recovered from a wax disk by the Smithsonian Institution using a laser

Oh shit! I've had a busy weekend completely forgot about it
Day 47 – The oldest song you own
Mine is downloaded too
From 1962:
Bobby "Boris" Pickett's - The Monster Mash (HQ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46GXQ2fTFzo#)
I'm glad we didn't have a Halloween song or I would be stuck
-
I think this is probably the oldest song I own:
Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFo8-JqzSCM#)
Chuck Berry FTW! :234567
-
Considering my knowledge of Japanese is crappy enough to prevent me from understanding 10 seconds of dialog reliably, most of my favorite songs probably apply for
Day 48: Unknown language.
Apparently, the time zone differences have changed the schedule a bit, though, so for now I join into Day 47: Oldest song
Now, it is not an original recording or even an official copy, but I do keep a few versions of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D Major on my disc.
Pachelbel - Canon In D Major. Best version. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlprozGcs80#)
And I do not think I have any authentic pre-baroque music at hand.
-
Day 48: Unknown language
Nena - 99 Luftballons German Version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lur-SGl3uw8#)
-
Day 49 – Your favorite song of all time
Well... That's an impossible question but here goes.
I already posted 'In Your Room' and U2 isn't turning me on today...
Try this then:
New York Girls by Gaelic Storm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRO-zsifgkQ#)
-
Day 48: Unknown language
One without any English:
(MV) GARO- saviour in the dark English Subs! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuOrQko1c1w#)
-
Favourite song:
30 Seconds To Mars - From Yesterday (Video Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpG7FzXrNSs#ws)
-
Hmmm we lost a day somehow (Delta lost 2?) today is actually supposed to be 50 is it not?
-
The timing is a bit awkward to begin with, since the lack of continuity around day 45/46 made us lose track of what day it actually is, and with a mix of European and American posts the timezones dilute day boundaries. So when you posted the oldest song on what might have been the 11th for you (no, I did not do the math), it was already the 12th here so our British members locked in on that and I followed suit, despite my math telling me it should have been day 48 already. So naturally, I posted my day 48 song one day after my day 47 song - but it was at a different time of the day and you had already caught up.
Next time we do this, we should either specify calendar days or agree on a timezone to avoid this, I guess. And one day appears to have been lost before the 45/46 break if my math works out.
-
I agree. Also - I wonder if making it shorter would entice more people to participate - or maybe making an IYNO announcement ahead of when we actually start it?
-

Both good suggestions. Perhaps it would be best sticking to 30 days like before. An announcement would certainly help get a few more people to join in. Maybe even have everyone follow it in their own time rather all of us staying on the same day, if you know what I mean. That way people can come in and join whenever, and it gives the thread more longevity.
-
Day 50: Good-Bye
'Til next time Gents!
Led Zeppelin - Ramble On (Studio Version - Best Quality) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKVp-atyiVA#ws)
