So who is following this championship? What teams? Thoughts on this season so far?
http://www.motogp.com (http://www.motogp.com)
Well no prizes for guessing I follow Ducatti's Casey Stoner of Australia. Stoner is a Former World Champion (2007) and currently tied for the lead with 6x and current reigning World Champion, Valentino Rossi of Italy and 2008's Rookie of the Year, Jorge Lorenzo of Spain. they all sit on 106 points, 37 points clear of 4th place. This year is a close one.
Last weekend in Catalunya (round 6 of 17) they finished 1st - Rossi, 2nd - Lorenzo, 3rd - Stoner.
Next Race:- Assen, Netherlands next weekend 27th June. Can't wait for that one!
-
And guess how they finished in Assen...
1. V. ROSSI ITA Fiat Yamaha Team 42'14.611
2. J. LORENZO SPA Fiat Yamaha Team + 5.368
3. C. STONER AUS Ducati Marlboro Team + 23.113
So now it's onto the USA with Laguna Seca this weekend....bring it on!!!
-
And results from USA's Leguna Seca :
1 D. PEDROSA SPA Repsol Honda Team 44'01.580
2 V. ROSSI ITA Fiat Yamaha Team + 0.344
3 J. LORENZO SPA Fiat Yamaha Team + 1.926
4 C. STONER AUS Ducati Team + 12.432
And the championship standings after 8 races are now:
1 Valentino ROSSI ITA Fiat Yamaha Team 151
2 Jorge LORENZO SPA Fiat Yamaha Team 142
3 Casey STONER AUS Ducati Team 135
4 Dani PEDROSA SPA Repsol Honda Team 92
Turning into an interesting season. Looking forward to the next race in Germany at the Sachsenring this weekend. Come on Casey!!!!!

No TV, so hard to follow the GP here :P
But I've seen a race or two, at friends, and some (great! ^^) video summaries on youtube :)
Those guys are all extraterrestrials xD

Managed to catch a bit of the 250cc this weekend, it was great. They stopped the race because of rain, and before the restart some riders changed from slicks to wets about 3 times because the rain kept coming and going. It was pretty funny to watch.
Not so funny for Stoner though, the BBC coverage said he came 4th because of tire problems. Am I right Tod? Plus, who won the 250cc? xD

They're at British grand Prix in Donington Park this weekend....Here's hoping for a good one for Casey!

Well the Championship is motoring along with the top 4 still fighting it out. Despite Casey not racing due to his mystery illness, he's still hanging in there in 3rd place in the championship, though it doesn't look like he'll get back on the bike until the Portuguese GP in October so it look like it's Rossi's year again for a 7th World Championship.
1 Valentino ROSSI ITA Fiat Yamaha Team 212
2 Jorge LORENZO SPA Fiat Yamaha Team 162
3 Casey STONER AUS Ducati Marlboro Team 150
4 Dani PEDROSA SPA Repsol Honda Team 135
-
Impressive comeback for Casey Stoner! With 2nd place in Portugal, Victory in Australia and Victory in Malaysia since his 3 race absence due to the mystery illness, Casey is on fire. Can he win the final race of 2009? Finger crossed :)
Congratulations to Valentino Rossi for claiming his 7th World championship title!!!!!
