So, Im a big fan of many things from the 80's... Cars, fashion, design, technology... And of course the music... Im 25 years old and Im one of those from my generation who actually love listening music on a record player or from a cassette.
I also own a nice JVC HI-FI from 1983, made of aplifier with equaliser built in, Tuner, Phono and two cassette players.
So, lets make this topic about 80's music :)
Post something you are listening to, that is from that era :)

I gave to admit that if I were to hear music I’d prefer it from a vinyl record than digital

There is something special about vinyl, isnt it? That cracking sound of small particles of dust on the record between the needle ????

Even with new or pristine condition records with less cyst and scratches, the sound is different. Warmer and more natural just how the human ear is supposed to hear it.

I love the 80s too.
The music of the past is simply much better than today's. Today everything sounds the same somehow.

I like Games Without Frontiers too. Did you know that Peter made a german language version of this song? It sounds really strange!
My favorite at the moment is Digging in the dirt.
Do you like Genesis or Phil Collins too?
-
Not heard of the German language version. Yes I like some Genesis.

Kim Wilde mentioned in her memoirs that she once visited a nudist beach in Australia and went for a swim and she absolutely loved it.
This is my favourite 80's song by her:

I was watching a show with my mum the other night about 80s music on Channel 5. It was really good! Some of it wasn't my thing but a lot of it was fantastic! My mum has a few albums on vinyl from that time. Trouble is we don't have anything to play them on! Early 80s music is great.

That's good to see a girl your age appreciating early 80's music. What are your favourite songs from that era?

I like songs by Madonna and Depeche Mode. Just discovered Blondie. Is that 80s or 70s?

Definitive Australian 80's Rock - Make sure to turn it up to 11 frm the outset. Divinyls played at the first Club I ever snuck into and imagine this about 3m from the stage and a few hundred heaving bodies.
The lead singer only fell off stage twice during the opening set - unfortunately she passed away several years ago.

My favorite version (https://internationalyn.org/forum/index.php/topic,87.2580.html) is from the 90s, sadly. Fairly appropriate for this forum though. It is also in German.
