Title: Brighton beach
Post by: Myshkin on August 31, 2017, 08:30:28 pm
I found myself in Brighton  last Summer and thought  I  would give the naturist beach  another try after a gap of about 10 years except for attending a few WNBR after-partys  which are not exactly typical days.  I like many others had given upon this as a naturist venue due to to it's bad reputation for  gawking, inappropriate behaviour etc.   Overall I have to say I was  pleasantly surprised  on the two days I was there, both warm sunny ones.   There was a reasonable  number of users though despite the size being reduced from what it was there was still plenty of space.    The crowd there was fairly mixed with quite a range of ages and a fair few women which I hadn't expected, either on their own, in little groups or part of a couple. The atmosphere was quite relaxed and I didn't notice anything  objectionable  going on .  The end nearest the Marina seemed to be a bit of a gay enclave  though again there was no  overt "cruising" activity to be seen.   I know you can't infer too much from a  few hours  experience but it does seem that this is becoming  a lot more civilised which is good as it is about the only beach in this country easily accessible from a city.   Maybe now Brighton is firmly established as the alternative capital of Britain  it is attracting  more residents in sympathy with naturism who are slowly starting to reclaim the beach.
So for anyone  going to Brighton -  take a look -  you may enjoy it  or maybe not  but its worth giving it a try.

Thanks for the review! Such an easily accessible beach will perhaps naturally be more likely to have issues with inappropriate behaviour. Good to know you didn't see anything of the sort.

Congratulations on the good experience. I hope to have some like it someday.
