Hey guys,
Quick question...If money was no object what would your favorite dream car/cars ? I personally are not a fan of flashy Ferrari or Lamborghinis etc. Id maybe drive them to experience them but personally wouldn't purchase a super car. To me i prefer cars mostly from the Japanese market. Im a big fan of drifting, togue races, touring etc and the cars that would be my favorite would be from those categorys. But my all time favorite dream car would be a RWD(rear wheel drive) car call a Nissan SILVIA S15. These cars are 2.0L turbos. But what i would like to do is drop a 3.4 Twin turbo engine from a R34 skyline into the Silvia and i can die happy :234567

I have a goal to have my dream car appropriate to each decade.
So, before I am 30, I would like to get a convertible to fully enjoy this amazing weather. I'd like a Camaro or Mustang, but depending on how my financial situation looks, I can aim for a better convertible car.
-
Two - Skoda Yeti for when I need to land a helicopter on the roof, also for taking kayaks off-road/well away from electric charging points. Charging points leads me nicely onto the other car - Tesla Model S. Hnnnnng

Tesla Model S. Hands down. I'm too lazy to link it but The Oatmeal described it perfectly as a spaceship of light and wonder (or something to that effect) it is absolutely the most amazing car to be produced.
As far as an awesome muscle car you can't beat a 1974 Impala, but with gas prices as they are I couldn't afford to drive it.

i don't know a lot about cars but that comment seems a bit narrow minded i have seen some articles such as this one which proves an american car can corner such as this one http://ca.autoblog.com/2013/10/15/chevy-camaro-z28-nurburgring-video/ (http://ca.autoblog.com/2013/10/15/chevy-camaro-z28-nurburgring-video/)

I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Granted European Supercars are far superior - Ferraris, Porsches, Audis etc. but Tesla is in a league of it's own. Elon Musk is no fool and the Teslas speak for themselves.

You're absolutely right on this one , american cars are not so trustworthy , japanese and german cars are the best in my opinion :D.

Yep. British and italian cars are pretty but un reliable. French cars are ugly but unreliable, chi ese cars are rip offs of wrstefn cars and no one give a toss about Russin cars. Lol
-
So, some quick mental maths tells me that I could juuuuuust about afford the Model S I want. If I was really really frugal with everything else and used all my bonus for the £4200 insurance I'd be paying... :P
-
I have 2..
mini cooper
mustang

I had a mini obsession once with DeLoreans, but after really seeing one in person I kinda want one! I'm in my school's marching band and we were warming up in the parking lot when one passed by.
Delorean's are really awesome cars indeed :D .

I'm a big fan of turbo cars and rally cars like Subaru sti and such. But if it were for a pick for me eother a good 1960'start Camaro Ss or I'm a big suckered for the Subaru. ;3
-
Porsche 911, variable-geometry twin turbo and twin clutch.
For me, automobiles are those made in Germany. Others are simply four-wheeled vehicle with engine, albeit cooler in look or faster.
Even Bugatti Veyron is actually made by VW.
-
I can name my ideal car for each race type and again for specs.
Grip (circuit): 2002 BMW M3 GTR E46
Drag: 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 " Eleanor"
Speed: 2005 Ford GT
Drift: 1997 Mazda RX-7 (Japanese tuner style is the way to go here)
And now for specs

Dirt: 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Perf (Performance): 2013 Dodge Viper SRT GTS
Raid: 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

For sure the best one. I kind of like the R33 as well. Dont see many of those posted anywhere.
-
Audi A8L W12

It changes frequently for me. Currently I'd give my left nut to own a Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 [W463]. Never going to happen for me though. lol It's price tag is way out of my realistic view.
-
Black Škoda Superb saloon.
-
I've got a couple different cars that I really like. My favorite is the Nissan 350z.
-
The car I dream on getting is the Lincoln Navigator, but it is way to expensive XD
-
1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster Edition with a three speed manual. Blue with black stripe.
Great choice ;) .

My dream car? Already own it....
-
My dream car is a 1968 Charger. Best looking muscle car ever made, just beautiful. And as others have mentioned above, I love Eleanor as well, nothing beats American muscle.
-
My dream car is a futuristic car clean with infinite energy ^^
The must ! :woo
-
Id really like to have the time and money to build a kit car like a Caterham. One day maybe
-
Easy. McLaren P1
-
I know I'm a little old-school with my choice, and I know it isn't the fastest sport car in the world. But, I've always wanted a 1981 Delorean. Just like the one on Back to the Future.
-
I'd like to have a vintage (around post war) black cadillac, and drive around like a mafioso :p
-
The new design of the Batmobile. It just looks and sounds amazing.
-
Nissan GT-R. I read that only 1000 are made each year coz there are only 4 people in the world who are allowed to assemble the engine and each car engine is individually signed by the person who made it.
-
Always wanted to get a Mercedes.
-
The new design of the Batmobile. It just looks and sounds amazing.
Are you talking about the new one for Batman V Superman? My favorite Batmobile has always been the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton one but the BVS one looks pretty bad ass too. It's like a mix between the one in the Arkham video games and the Tumbler. That would be a cool car to drive around town in haha
-
I'm not sure exactly, but it would need to be a 4X4. Jeep, truck, maybe even a van. Then that way, I could build like a mobile bedroom in the back to sleep in for the places I wana go!!????

Those are pretty cool, I've seen them before. Im not sure what model it is, maybe the same one, but it's a 4X4 VW van/camper. Id go for one of those. Think there pretty expensive though.
But so would a Chevy 4X4 van to so...
I could live in the t1 lol....
-
Rolls Royce Phantom :like
-
Chevelle SS. I always wanted a vintage car.

An 70's Porsche 911 or indeed a Tesla model S :) Electric is the future

I love this! This is the dream! I have been seriously looking at buying a trusty old 4x4 and installing a rooftop tent and just exploring... Australia has miles and miles of untouched coastline... A great backdrop to get back to nature and get away from society for a while :)
-
Some kind of Tesla, or a Lexus ES or NX. Maybe an Audi S6?
Those are about the only ones I really know.
I drive a KIA Forte right now. She's not bad, but she ain't luxurious.

@silverhalide As an european is very entertaining to see a car which is so slow for its time, only had engine choices called "rocket"
-
It may seem oddly specific, but my dream car is a particular 1972 Land Rover Series 3, 88" SWB; it has standard sand-coloured wheels with a spare on the bonnet, it's finished in RAF blue, and has no fixed roof besides a removable canvas 'tilt'. It is perhaps one of the least practical vehicles for me to admire; it's slow and messy on the road, it leaks (both through the roof and out of the engine), and it is far more expensive than a truck like that should ever possibly be. I've passed by this truck for the past 7 years on my way to school but unfortunately it disappeared in the last couple of months. It's the only car I've ever fallen in love with and hopefully, one day, I'll be able to find it and maybe even buy it off the current or future owner.
A couple of years ago, a company that a couple of you may know of, called Petrolicious, released a video of a car almost exactly the same as the one I've been after. It's one of my favourite videos ever made and so I thought I'd link it below.

A very characterful car! So mechanical, the exact opposite of a Tesla :)
It is, but, they were both created by visionaries who attempted to make the best of use of technology at the time, so they may not be quite as different as you think. Not that a long distance drive in a 1970's Land Rover is quite as comfortable as a brand new Tesla....
-
My absolute dream car would probably be a Tesla... it's amazing how futuristic they are and I love being able to drive on a cleaner source of energy.
I love more rough vehicles like that land rover as well though! If a futuristic car would be out of reach I would probably go with a larger terrain car.
-

If I had the disposable income, I'd love to see about taking an old Land Rover and replacing the engine and transmission with electric motors! It's basically perfect for it since there is not much room for an engine up front, but there is room for a couple of motors. The rear of the truck doesn't have seats so it's generally used a truck bed, but that means there is very little underneath, leaving more than enough room for a battery and two more motors. This combined with an otherwise complete restoration of the car would create a very cool truck that has few of the mechanical problems the original vehicle had. Hopefully one day I'll be able to do something like that. Or pay someone to do it...

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, no one has done it within the past couple of years with more modern technology; electric car technology has improved so much (lots of thanks god to tesla), especially motor and battery quality. This means that while no one has tried creating something like what I suggested using new technology, the fact that people have been able to do the same thing with older, generally inferior tech suggests that the effectiveness of more recent tech would be quite incredible! Imagine what doing something like this will be like in 15 years time!

Don't want a Tesla?
I want a Model 3 so bad. I don't need something absurdly opulent for "dream car" material. Just not needing gas is enough of a luxury for me.
I wanted a Leaf and I recently needed to get another car since the old one ran into problems too expensive to be worth it to fix. But it was a little out of my price range and the drive to actually find one was longer than one could drive the thing in one charge. Just didn't work out.
At least giving it a few years until I need a new vehicle allows science to do its thing and we can get more mileage out of electric cars. I don't really far that often anyway.

Tesla or other electric car

I have a few friends who got them. personally I like the model 3 and S better than the X.
Yeah there are definitely some things about the 3 I prefer, particularly the interior. I'm hoping the S and X eventually get some aesthetic changes that make them on par with the newer models.
-
For me, it has to be something that's realistically attainable. A C8 Stingray or a Mustang GT500 would be cool. I'm happy with what I have now though!
-
Tesla is nice, but they really need to get their assembly QC under control. Some of the panel gaps I've seen on them (in person) are ridiculous!
As for me: A GT500 or a C8 would be something that's realistically attainable. Problem is: With cars like those, you can't really enjoy them too much on the street. Not where I live, at least. :(
So for me my dream car would be any model of Tesla. From the cars that I have seen on the road and in show rooms, I've never seen any newer models of their cars with horrible panel gaps or major quality control issues. But they could be fixed at their norway plant when they're converted to RHD :confused
-
I can't believe that everyone is hot for a new car, especially a Tesla. Nobody here has mentioned a classic sports car like this 1957 Porsche Convertible which is worth way more then a Tesla.
-
That porsche is pretty cool, but If I were buying an older Porsche, I'd buy a 1986 911

I would trade a bloody organ for a 911!!! But I fell in love with this '57 that I saw at

I have to agree, the g wagon is something special. Really cool, even if all the Hollywood housewives kinfa have ruined it its still so fucking cool.
-
I don’t have a specific car in mind, but I do know it needs to be all electric. I have no interest in cars that burn gas or diesel. I don’t judge people who like these cars. But I think we’d be a lot better off once most cars are electric!
I'll be happy when they are more affordable, and more viable for rural areas.

That seems quite attainable, they are the cheapest Porsches. I've always liked them, they seem nimble and fun, but not so expensive that you have to baby them.

Can't imagine the gas mileage on them would way up any of the benefits. They are cool, but like it seems like it would be impossible to drive just because the amount of deisel it would consume.

My dad raised me on classic muscle cars, we both always loved the 68-70 Charger as the best car ever made. The only current car that I absolutely love is the Challenger. My dad got one a few years back and that was his baby, but sadly he died a few months ago and I inherited it. It's bittersweet having it because it's my favorite modern car but I didn't want to get it this way. I take care of her and try and make him proud

I don't think my dream car exists.
I wouldn't choose an electric car just because of how long it takes to charge it. You can't just stop in a gas station wherever you are and get filled up in less than a minute. So EVs are out of the equation, which means I have to choose between petrol and diesel. Petrol stinks and I really can't stand it, I nearly throw up every time I have to fill that up in a gas station. So diesel it is. But make it hybrid for ecology and economy. It may seem odd to everyone around here, but I actually prefer manual transmission because it gives me more control in difficult situations. So if it's a hybrid, it has to be mild hybrid. Oh and I want the car to be short but tall, because I hate looking for big enough parking spots but I don't want it to have a super low ground clearance or just be cramped inside.
So I guess it's a mild hybrid manual diesel tractor then? lmao
Oh but if I lived in a private house it would just be a compact electric car. No need for manual transmission because electric cars don't have internal gears at all. I guess the tall and short thing is still a problem, though :rotfl2:

Multipla... don't mention that abomination anywhere near me, lol. Anyway, these are all average sized cars. My definition of short is less than 4 meters long. I'm pretty happy with my Kia Rio (2014), it has a big trunk and enough leg room inside even though it's under 4 meters long. Its short hood definitely helps with being compact, the newer models have less space inside.

I can accept the appeal of the PT Cruiser, the 1956 Multipla and the 2004 Multipla. But the 1999 Multipla - that thing looks like a glitch in a video game where two cars are rendered inside of each other.

Dream car is no car. Car centrism sucks. Can't do anything without a car unless you live in a big city. Now that I live in the cornfields of upstate New York. I can't walk anywhere without having a close call with a car. I don't own a car and I suffer for it.
Love myself motor sport though. Getting into F1, and I do like racing in general. Big Forza player.

Every time I tell people about it, they're amazed that you can have the windscreen taken off when buying it :laughcrying:
Had to google Caterham but real cool looking cars

They're based on Colin Chapman's Lotus Seven, if you have heard of that one

I want a Range rover but theyre so big. Feels like i need a truck license lol

Honestly? Shelby Mustang

If I was being realistic, I'd want to drive a Nissan Kicks. They just look like a fun car to tool around in.
But if I could have a sports or luxury car, I'd go with a Ford GT. Either a 2006 one or one of the 2019 (?) GTs.

They're notorious for being extremely unreliable and maintenance is really expensive

Until recently we had a Range Rover and it was actually always quite reliable. Every now and then I was allowed to drive in parking lots with my parents and I have to say that it was actually quite easy to drive.

They are very easy to handle and do not have a large turning arc. So a normal drivers license will do you fine :happy

Yes it is ! But also a bit scary... So little weight with such direct power could mean sliding all over the place, even faster than with the combustion engine !
