Let's share my greatest love (beside being nude :D).
Music!
I sing in a classical choir (secular and religious).
And I do like my metal (ok technical it is alternative rock or prog-rock).
Beside this I listen to some classical stuff, but also sometimes some Balkan, Turkish or whatever I find on youtube.
As long as it could soul (and thought) and preferably a keyboard (for I play keyboard)
I love to listen to it. All these 3 minutes songs with a hook in it, mwah, not my cup of tea.
Any other choir-singers around here?
-
Yeah was for a while at school, and was a tenor couple years ago when I stopped.
-
I'm mainly a piano player but I was in a choir for 5 weeks when i was doing a summer program. I had to have an elective so i chose that. It was fun.
-
No, I sing very badly, but I like to listen Gregorian chants, gospel, lyrical songs...
-
I do sing in a choir - and I am also a choirmaster of another choir. Can't imagine living without singing. Had some years without being choirmaster, which was o.k., but I enjoy having returned to this function (even if it is a real challenge much of the time).

Thanks all for the replies.
Cool, @Night Listener, nice to hear about another choral member. Any favourite choir pieces?
@Mettis, singing is not dificult, only the right note at the right time :D

@Natuur That's a good reply. :e4444

I don't sing, but I do play the violin!

@Natuur, I sing in a religious choir, therefore, it is sacred music. I have many favourites, the Passions by Bach for example will never cease to be among the most impressive and important pieces. Apart from those monuments, I would nominate the Mass for Double Choir by Frank Martin as a favourite piece since many years.

Playing violin (which I tried, but did't quite succeed) is awesome. (But you should sing as well, every instrumentalist shoud do that, it will influence your playing!)

Bass, in church choir.
Although, I am always amazed with extremely low bass singers of Russian Orthodox Choir, called "Octavists". Find them in YouTube.
-
Awesome! I'm a 2nd bass in a local youth choir
-
I got my start in my interest of singing in my freshman year of high school. I joined the symphonic choir as a tenor. Later on down the line I was moved to the bass section. I even participated in a few concerts, and surprisingly didn't have stage freight like I did when I was younger. It was one of my better experiences in life.
-
Hey all,
Thanks for the replies! I just had my concerts with my choir. And they went awesome!
We performed acappella pieces around the theme of what comes after this life.
And together with the orchestra we performed Vaughan Williams, Toward the unknown the region.
Then we burst forth!
@eagleday, yes those guys are crazy. I do not known what is in their water, but their cojones are on the floor. Maybe with age my voice will get lower, but this season I was already jealous/in awe of my fellow bass who was from Finland. He had such power in his lower regions. Awesome.
@disabled_nudist_male yes, performing is one of the best feelings ever. Btw have you seen Table Vivant of Delirium constructions? I picture the soprano (at the end) whenever I have any bit of stage-freight. Damn girl, you rock!

I love listening to choirs and singing in them! We had an informal choir among the youth at our church, but the leader got married and went to his wife's church, and the members dispersed. My life is incomplete now... :-(
