Anyone into classical music here? What is your favourite piece?
-
The Chaconne from Partita No 2 on violin, played by Issac Stern.
-
I love The New World Symphony, Schubert's Unfinished, Beethoven's Coriolon Overture, Russlan and Ludmilla, and Paganini Caprice 24(and Milstein's variations on Pag 24)
-
I wish I knew enough about it to be able to appreciate it properly.
-
Johann Sebastian Bach:
Orchestral: BWV 1066–1069, 1046–1051,
Cantatas: BWV 248, 191, 243, 65, 244-245, 249, 11, 34, 79, 232, 119, 120, 206, 207a
And all of his solo harpsichord suites
(Sorry I use numbering, because their German titles are so long)
-

Ooh, nice choice
-
My current favourite is Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor
It has a lot of gravitas

Well yes, especially baroque music. (Handel and Vivaldi as well). I like Chopin also.
-
I like ride of the valkyries by Wagner and William Tell overture by Rossini the best
-
Not really a fan of most but there was one that I forgot the name of maybe someone can point it out. It opened with a bassoon but very high notes and it was that solo.
-
I’m absolutely clueless when it comes to music, especially classical but if I hear something I like I’ll listen to it and hope there are no lyrics because I’m hopeless at making them out with my shoddy hearing
-
like everybody, i'm no aficionado, but grofé's grand canyon suite has been on my mind recently
-

William Tell Overture is brilliant. It's really fun to play on violin

Schubert’s Unfinished is one of the best IMO. I get so many different emotions throughout.

Schubert’s Unfinished is one of the best IMO. I get so many different emotions throughout.
Our conductor for the Unfinished Symphony during rehearsals told us to think of the rhythm for the accented section as "Smurfette, Smurfette, Smurfette, You Must Stop" because the piece was used in one of the Smurf films or TV shows

Big fan, always have been. I really like baroque music, but I often listen to Mozart when I work, I love the piano concerto no 21. It was the first concert I went to post-COVID, so happy to have heard one of my favourite pieces performed live again.
-
Daphnis and Chloe is my current favorite.
-
I don't have specific favorites, but I will listen to classical music if the mood strikes me.
