Title: NBA 2011-12 season
Post by: King Pizza on October 18, 2011, 02:29:42 pm
I don't know if anyone else is following the National Basketball Association's lockout, but I am extremely disappointed that the NBA has canceled the first 2 weeks of the season. The reason I am so disappointed is because last season's playoffs were so good, even though Miami did not win.

It really is too bad.  With the recession leaving its mark on the world...this is the worst possible time for a league to go through a lockout.

Not sure if there will even be a season...as both sides are no closer than they were a few months ago.

I really can't believe that this issue wasn't worked out by now because the people who seriously follow the sport and the and the participants in the sport new that the agreement was going to be expiring so they should have agreed last season to do something about it, whether that means they play under the old agreement or they put together an interim deal that will stand-in for all times like this, so that we will never have to go without basketball.

Well, it looks like the announcement made earlier today is the death knell for this upcoming season:

I for one, am losing respect for the NBA for allowing this sham to happen.

I'm pretty disappointed about the lockout myself. But on a brighter note..thanks to the lock out i was able to see Dwayne Wade in person. Something I didnt imagine could ever happen.

That must have been pretty awesome; Miami's my favorite team.

I think the credibility of the NBA took a serious hit when it stopped the trade.  I know that Stern is trying to help the small-market teams stay afloat- but would have thought business is still business in this league.

On the flip side, in comparison to the other leagues, NBA stars do seem to have more leeway when demanding trades (as recent history seems to suggest).  I don't think that is good at all.

Hopefully some good can arise out of all this.
