Hello forum,
Am still very curious about how the "gallery" is on this forum. I know it is very secure here and you can get access to it in time. I joined the forum since the beginning of December last year and I think I am quite active (sometimes more sometimes less as time just allows). I definitely don't want to sound like I just want access, but I would like to be able to share photos of myself with you guys as well. Can someone please explain to me what needs to be met in order to be admitted to the gallery?

Just be patient. That's what I did. Im a very talkative person online so it just came naturally to me. Im sure that's not the answer you were looking for but it's the truth.

I know one of the moderators stated that it takes place automatically.
The OP, who doesn't have access, has 123 posts (0.872 per day).
The next poster, who does have access, has 373 posts (6.217 per day).
So I am guessing you have to reach a certain number of posts that is somewhere between 123 and 373.
If you make at least 373 posts and post a minimum of 6 times a day, I would say you will get it.
Not sure if the number of posts per day / number of topics also has an influence.

While I am not about to disclose any exact figures, I can tell you that post frequency only matters in one way: People who only come to visit the gallery and never participate in the forum after getting gallery access tend to lose their access. We are not a photo-trading site, after all. Other than that, it is a mix of automatic features and manual input, and we have watchful moderators here, so I would strongly recommend against throwing out tons of messages just to make your post count go up - that is not going to help you.

The fact that it's automated is mildly unnerving, but I think its good to keep it mildly convoluted as to how and when these permissions get added.

Actually, that is beyond a good point.
I've personally answered the same question multiple times. It shows 2 things to me.
1: That the people asking the questions aren't using the search feature that is a staple point of all forums out there.
2: The rules/FAQ are not being read by these same people either. Many of the questions that are asked, including this, can be found out in those two sections for those that are just not willing to type in the search for past topics.
I think going forward, these will be locked with a link to the appropriate sections. We don't discourage necroing old post here and we highly encourage people to look things up. I did a quick search through my history (just a few minutes worth) and found at least 6 where I've answered this question before.
So since answered...again...and again...and again...gonna go ahead and lock this one too.
