Title: Oldschool cars
Post by: Adrian on January 26, 2021, 08:01:56 pm
Is anyone here a fan of oldschool cars, especially the ones from the era from early 70's to the late 90's?

Personally I own a BMW 745i from 1983 and a Porsche 944 from 1984, and as a daily I use a Peugeot 405 from 1991 :)

Post few pics from your toys if you have them :)

Here are mine :)

My current daily driver, a 1990 k1500.  Odometer was at 302k when it quit counting the miles.  I love the old 350 small block, and 700r4, but I wish it had obd2.  It is my unscientific opinion that every chevy made after 1998 is garbage  :rotfl2:

I love cars in general, especially classical, even more specific Japanese classics. But of course I love euro cars as well. Just haven't really bought one or even considered it.

My favorite manufacturer is Nissan. Late 80s to early 00s.

I currently own 2 Nissan s13.
One 200sx 1989 OEM+ 270hp.
One 240sx 1992 wide body sr20det. Stock. Only 1/8 in Sweden.

I'm very lucky to own such rare cars at my age and with my income. But I know how to work on cars and how to do business. The 89 was more or less a wreckwhen I bought it. I've done more or less everything you can do to it. It's definitely not pristine yet, because my skills in paint are not the best.

The other was imported but not registered, so I've filed all paper for registrationaand they are all approved. Now it just needs a light renovation before registration.

That's pretty neat, my dad used to own a saab 9000 aero and that was pretty damn cool. I think they're still very cheap, but they are amazing cars.

OK so I havent found the pictures that I tried to post via the deviantart link but here are a couple of my late father's cars from the final years of his life. This awful thing he was pretty much given by an idiotic and lazy mechanic. My dad had bought a red Toyota MR2 which needed some serious work... like a new engine.. DO NOT buy cars from fucking eBay! Some weird deal my dad had with the mechanic was that he'd "borrow" this black thing which also needed work while the mechanic worked on my dads car. In the end my dad ended up with the celica and a non working red MR2 when the machanic was forced to reduce the number of cars on his land. From these pictures you'll see that one problem with this fugly motor was its leaky soft top roof which caused damp and mould to grow inside. Guess who's free labour was used to clean that up.

Unfortunately my dad was stupid and agreed to move to scotland with a woman and her family. Needing to get rid of a house full of junk and unused cars he paid for a removal firm using the car as part payment. I don't think I have any pictures of the red MR2 unless there are any my dad took on his laptop or camera.

There was another MR2 with pictures to find. My dad was out of his tree with cars in his last years. He had a Mazda 626 GSI from 2002 it was a great car we had been all over the place in it. He took it for an MOT one year, 2012 I think and came back with a blue MR2 to test drive. Bought it (fool) and got conned. It was a rust bucket and the bottom was falling out. Rather than get the garage shut down for passing a rust bucket as a road worthy car he sold it and got some other contraption. Another red Toyota mk3 with soft top. He wasn’t happy with it and rather than learn his lesson and stick with the old faithful he sold that and bought the red MR2 I mentioned in my previous post from ebay. Left that with a mechanic and loaned the celica. Any sane person with limited space and funds wouldn’t have even done that but he had to buy yet another MR2, silver shadow. I have pictures of that somewhere there might even be a few pics of the blue one.I don’t know about the mk3 or the red mr2

@Adrian found a couple of his silver MR2. This was the last car he ever bought and owned until his death, although it was one of four cars he had at once in about 2012-15. I'll post others if and when I find any. Edited the reg out and someones face so sorry about that

Yes all of his MR2s except the soft top mk3 and celica were T bars. I always thought they looked odd with their roof panels off though. But at least they didn’t leak like the soft tops.

That is a real shame man. The MR2 was a good car and looked great too. Can't believe he had to sell it off. Would've been better if he left it for you.

Well it’s complicated. If you look at all my posts about the cars in this topic you’ll see there were several of them. He did tell me that if a buyer for his last car (the silver one i posted pics of) didn’t want it then it would be mine. Problems there though. 1 he lived in Scotland and I can’t drive, 2 he family he moved up there with before he died all claimed he left it to them and 3 if I did get it then debt collectors would be after it as he died in debt.
