Hi everyone! Any fellow home brewers on this forum? I got into making beer from a small kit 5-6 years ago that's evolved into brew-in-a-bag method with pullies and a dedicated brew station.

I'm curious to see anybody else's setup if they brew as well. I'm interested in starting to make wine or meads

I've done some brewing from kits, nothing proper. But I've always been interested in brewing beer. Looking at buying a smaller proper starter kit. But i don't have any room in my apartment. Hopefully I'll move soon though.

I have a friend who has bees and made mead, he brought it to a party and it was disgusting. Very fun project though.

I did my first home brewing stuff on the porch of my apartment. I just asked my neighbors if it was okay. I had a large kettle with a propane cooker since the stove would have taken hours. Or you could do small batches on your stove. My apartment was TINY.

This cracked me up. I wound say a good home brew campaign is as harder than a home brew beer!

My dad has a Still. I sometimes help him brew and make alcohol alcohol with it. Obviously I don't drink the alcohol but I like to help him make it. He makes whiskey bourbon and different liqueurs.

It's a bit if fun and something we can do together.

mead is meh at best and disgusting at worst.

Made some mead for a project in college a long time ago using methods (as close as I could) done in medieval times.  It was hit and miss all at once.

it really is. i think the vikings did it because they were alcoholics and it was the least effort

I'm certain they probably perfected the methods to make good mead.  Would doubt they'd have been alcoholics if they kept making bad mead! haha  Would've been better than what I had turned out for that project.

Making mead from my own honey (have 6 hives) every year. Using modern methods, it works out quite well, though it needs some balancing out later (acidity, sweetness, sometimes spices).

I'm not big on alcohol but I've always wanted to try homebrewing. Something about the complexity and nuance makes it seem like a really fun hobby.

I had thought about it years ago and until recently there used to be a high street store that sold brewing kits but I had an issue with space for it all and if I screwed it up I'd have wasted a lot of money.
