The Lonely Island

Anybody else here a fan of The Lonely Island.  They're a music/comedy group that did "Dick in a Box" & "I'm on a Boat."  Their songs are parodies, but rather than just changing the words to an existing song all of their stuff is original.  It's more style parody than direct song parody.  They've actually gotten a lot of famous musicians to guest on their songs and they have done a variety of musical styles.  They've also had their work featured on Saturday Night Live several times.

One of their most recent songs features Michael Bolton & is hilarious.  I generally think of Michael Bolton as doing bland adult contemporary stuff that my Mom used to listen to in the 1990s.  Here he's great, poking fun at his image and singing some lines that you never thought you'd hear him say.

I know some huge Michael Bolton fans, but Michael Bolton fans in the way as "he makes such great love songs"
Now I wonder if I should link them to this band

Not my favorite kind of Music but I can definitely appreciate what these guys are doïng

I like The Lonely Island quite a bit, they are really funny! My favorite song and video is Boombox.

I've been a fan of Lonely Island, even before I knew they where an actual group.  I first saw Lazy Sunday and Dick in a Box on Saturday Night Live when they first aired, then the movie Hot Rod.  But it wasn't until after I left Afghanistan in 2009 and heard Jizz in my Pants while in a dance club in Cyprus, that I found out they were an actual sketch comedy/music band thing, and not just SNL performers.

Jizz in my pants is hilarious song.  It's not even remotely safe for work, but it's really fun.  I love how they parody euro-synth-pop.

Also for no real reason my faovorite joke in the video is with the line "last week I saw a film, as I recall it was a horror film" and the video shows Andy standing in front of a marquee that says "A Horror Film."
