Trout Fishing
« on: May 20, 2012, 07:36:48 am »
Anyone here in to trout Fishing? I have recently started getting naked for my trout fishing sessions, and have been loving walking up the river banks of New Zealands huge braided rivers with no one for miles, casting a fly or spinner to trout as I go.
This is such a great way to enjoy my country and the sport I love.
I would love to hear stories of big trout, or other fresh water fish in other countries, and stories of other nude fishermen/women who walk the riverbanks and wade through rivers and streams in search of the big one!

I don't know about where you're at, but around here the trout eat bugs. That means we have clouds of mosquitos whenever we'd be trout fishing...Of course, anything can be overcome with proper planning.

I honestly haven't done much fishing in the last few years due to having two jobs in the summer. I'm hoping to take a fly fishing class next year. I know of a stream that has Rainbows, Dollies and all 5 kinds of Pacific salmon. Ooh, man, that place is just dying for a fly rod.
The last three days, the rain was unstoppable. It was always cold, no sunshine.

Hi Advent,  I havnt had problems with mosquitos so far.. although I imagine they could be quite annoying if the flew in cloud lots!  most of the rivers I fish are fairly fast flowing, and I think mosquitos prefer the more still waters. the trout I catch are usually full of nymphs that live on the bottom of the river bed.
That river you are talking about sounds pretty cool.. would love to try for a salmon at some stage. we mainly fish for Rainbow trout, and occasionally browns too.

Nice Fish!

Mosquitos don't need much water. A wet moose track is enough, and I live in a rainforest.

I love trout fishing in New Mexico. I haven't tried it Nude though it sounds awesome. I would love to do that on the mountain streams.
May all beings be happy and peaceful
